Im from the UK and have spent time in the US and the reason we dont know about good country music is because it isnt played on the radio here .There is a whole culture in the States that we dont get over here and for a good reason. I had heard of Shane Smith & the Saints but wasn't deep into their music. Then I decided to travel across the country to see one of my favorites - Whiskey Myers - play at Red Rocks this past June. Red Rocks was a bucket list location to see a concert, so this was the perfect opportunity. The opening act was The Reed Southall Band, who were amazing. I'd never heard of them, but they were great. Usually the first band of three is a throwaway while the audience arrives. We were there early and loved every minute of their set. Then the second act showed up, Shane Smith & the Saints. My wife, son and I were blown away. My wife isn't a huge music fan, but she indulges me. She now has one band on her iphone - every song she can find from their catalog. Then WM showed up and put on their usual kick ass show. I've seen them a dozen times and they never disappoint. At the encore, they brought out all three bands for an awesome ending. Shane Smith is coming to the DC area in a month and we are all going to see them again.

Just watched these guys last night at the Choctaw Resort in Durant OK. Hell of a show! They sound just as good if not better live. All of these gentlemen are extremely talented. The bassist looks like he pulls an RV with straps every morning for breakfast. His quads were massive yall. Lead guitarist was shredding it all night and never missed a lick. My dude on the fiddle was wearing his famous Carhartt bibs and played that fiddle so good Charlie Daniels would be proud. I'm pretty sure the drummer never dropped a stick either. Impressive performance. So glad I finally got to see them live!
