I'm an amateur in a league, with a losing record (4 wins out of 10 matches played, at my skill level I have to win 2 to take a match), and that 3rd rack really made me feel better. 2 players at the professional level, one being my favorite player (SVB) both made a few mistakes. Shane missing that 9 in the corner the second time when I expected him to make it. Man, that helped me mentally. The guy who runs the league I'm in thinks I have a lot of potential but says I have a problem with letting mistakes get to my head and I just don't recover mentally. I call it the "Earl Strickland syndrome".

Why do a lot of pool players where gloves while playing? Do their cues cause friction burns.
@yes2crypto Жыл бұрын
Most of the pros do it so they get a consistent feel regardless of the environmental conditions they face during matches. It might be hot or dry. It might get humid. It might be extra dusty. Over the many long hours they play during the day, chalk and dust and moisture builds up and makes the shaft feel different. The glove helps mitigate all that so the feel is the same every shot regardless of what’s going on with the weather that day.
