Glad you liked the video. Yeah backup cars are usually not up to the primary’s standards. Going to a backup is tough enough as is just resituating yourself and whatnot, but the car itself just isn’t as good. Rough weekend overall for the 97 team

As an Aussie who isn't that familiar with Nascar/Xfinity, your updates are really good. Simple and comprehensive 👍 Any chance you can explain the race stages aspect of a race?
@NikolaiPCulp6 ай бұрын
Stages are meant to pay points for the regular season and help reward drivers for their consistency throughout a race. So if someone leads 225/250 laps but blows a tire with 2 to go, yeah it sucks they didn’t win, but if they sweep the stages, they still are awarded with 2 playoff points and 20 regular season points to soften the blow in a sense. I personally don’t like the cautions at the end of them but like the aspect of paying consistent speed. As for strategy, for ovals it’s straight forward but road courses it gets split and a bit more complicated.
@MadmanJnr6 ай бұрын
@NikolaiPCulp Awesome thanks for that. Makes sense, you would be pissed if you led for 99% of the race only to miss the win and get nothing for it.
@miket12106 ай бұрын
@@NikolaiPCulp as a new fan it feels like the cautions mean you have to lose track position to gain those playoff points. I could be well off here but it seems more like the playoff points are designed to make the sport more entertaining seeing fast drivers sacrifice position for those points which essentially means you see them trying to recover through the field after the fact.
@Kyte3166 ай бұрын
@@NikolaiPCulp i think stage racing takes away from race strategy nascar could just as easily award points for most laps led etc the stages and cautions after them take away certain strategies imo..i am australian but i have been watching nascar consistently since ambrose raced and i prefer how it used to be run before the playoffs and before stage racing just my 2 cents great channel

Can you imagine in any racing world where someone crashes and the community has a 1000 excuses for a Spin out and crash damage for a DNF ..? Don’t get me wrong this guy is a great competitor and racer period!!! But when others like Kyle Larson came to the ovals from dirt were they given the same treatment! P.s. If the playoffs were 90% Road Course SVG would most likely be champion , but this is Nascar not the Supercar Series…! 😲🏁🇺🇸

@@Naoj2024 l have never followed NASCAR, I follow F1, Rally, Indy but mainly SUPERCARS. I did not know any of the main players in NASCAR, where they came from and how great of racers they are!! However, I sure do now since following Shane over from supercars with Kyle being my favourite cup racer, a longside Lagano 👀😎🏁I'm unsure what the point of this question is? Shane will make mistakes, he will crash, he will have plenty of bad days, it's to be expected he's been on ovals for 6 months. Communities from all motor sports make excuses for their favourite drivers on bad days.

Only a few teams could setup car tor this track this week .. Mayer car had way eay more front right camber than most other cars. . Chandler smith car could run very fast with out destroyed tyres .. most people don't realise how much setup matters

It’s a track that Xfinity hasn’t been to in 5 years. Definitely was going to be a tough weekend for some. We saw a lot of tire issues today as a whole. Fast speeds on a half rough race track half repave is just really…unpredictable in a sense I feel like.

Sometimes it just takes so long to fix the primary that it’s not worth it. Like sometimes it’ll take all night/into the morning so they just go to the backup. Probably some internal damage that was hard to fix if I had to guess.

His car was an absolute heap of shit. He had brake problems all day long, where he couldn’t actually use the brakes without tapping them several times and then they would lock up. One of the other cars reported that he had brake fluid all over the back of his car which probably points to a leak that Kailig didn’t spot. He then had brake shake later on and his car just ended up being too much to handle and he crashed out. This was not a skill issue.

It’s always something when he doesn’t do as well as everyone expects him to. There were a lot of other cars out there slipping and sliding all over the place that didn’t wind up in the wall. How about we try this excuse out. This guy has absolutely no experience at any of these tracks let alone on ovals. He doesn’t know what his car should feel like on these tracks, what the car will or won’t do on a oval, what adjustments need to be made or the terminology when giving any type of feedback. He could be in the best equipment in the series, in the car that just won the race and still be laps down to the leader or find himself in the wall. He can’t even tell his crew chief what feeling he is looking for in his car at any of the track’s except on a road course because that’s what he did for his entire career. So if you really think you can put this guy in any of the top cars and he’s magically going to start running up front you’re crazy. HE STILL HAS TO LEARN HOW TO ACTUALLY RACE ON OVALS not just ride around and hope most of the cars running in front of him have some sort of a problem.
@Bogues_886 ай бұрын
@@richardgabinelli7805 yea lots cars blew tyres lots hit the wall. None of the kaulig cars did any good. Probably only 10% of feild had decent setups .. if U listen to the radio scanner you would know there was serious issue with brakes .. fluid under the rear tyre doesn't exactly help grip. No one here is expecting him to win ovals yet but given a better car he could have done way better as could half the field of they had Chandler Smith or Mayer's car.
