I know Marcos had trouble with braking the Supercars after coming back from NASCAR. Some of the skill and finesse he had from his first Supercars career just wasn't there anymore. So, you might be right there. Then SVG comes to NASCAR, brakes right at the limit of the car's capabilities, uses the rear axle to help the turn in, feels the grip under the car and carries a mile or two extra through the corners, leaving series regulars struggling to keep up! Shane has phenomenal car control, he's got a sixth sense for feeling exactly what grip is available from whatever car he's driving, and figuring out how to make use of that. You could copy his technique, but without that feel for the car you won't get the same performance.

The Fins holds the honour of having the most F1 champions. The whole country enjoys rally type dirt track racing, and to keep it available to all, they mandate that the winner of any race must put up the winning car for sale to any other driver at a set, very modest price. This keeps wealthy drivers, who can afford the best and most expensive mods, more aligned to the pack. Fantastic idea. This should be instituted in every country because it not only produces more elite drivers, it also improves all participating drivers.

In order not to get in troubleshooting, the kid needed to be good behind the wheel. The heel toe thing is taught in Junior school here. @@_red_scorpion_ some talking attributed the cause to a conflict between sponsors in the Red Bull galaxy. Allegedly Nissan (whose brand Infiniti was sponsoring the RB F1 team at the time) was not happy that Red Bull ran Toyotas in NASCAR with TRD support. Since the team had to be rebuilt almost from the ground up to "accomodate" another manufacturer, and they were still building up performance-wise after the first rough years, the just decided to pull the plug entirely.
@dantheracer16 Жыл бұрын
It was mostly due to poor performance. Helmut Marko an Dietrich Mateschitz don't have a lot of patience for failure. As well as that both their 2011 drivers were out the door from very early on that season and as someone else has mentioned. Red Bull's major technology partner at the time was Infiniti which was basically Nissan. Nissan and Toyota were fierce enemies so that could have been a reason too.
