He went to Costa Rica on vacation, with his then partner, and drowned in the ocean. It took me about three years to be at peace with it. I just came across your story and I can't describe the amount of tears that I cried. I have a close friend who lost the love of his life a few months ago due to suicide, hard to try find the words to comfort him. So I don't know what words to say other than your's and Tom's love will never be broken from what I've seen, that's rare and I know I'd be happy if I ever get to experience just an ounce of that feeling. I met the love of my life 19 years ago and look forward to the day that we can make our relationship official and legally wed. I grew up in the rural southern mountains of N.C. and can relate to the treatment you received in High School. I went to a simple country elementary school K through 8 grades. High School was like a different world suddenly people who I had known and been friends with almost my entire life now made horrible comments to me or about me on a daily basis. Every Storm by Zac Poor is full of meaning, but can't find it on iTunes; downloaded the rock version instead from another singer; My Fire by Allison Gray, can't find it on iTunes; and most importantly, the Sincerely Yours by Tom Bridegroom is not available yet on iTunes. I hope Tom's song will be available soon in the market. "Sincerely Yours" is an inspiration that can challenge us all. .His song will surely provide no boundaries that is capable of melting anybody's heart made of stone....a testament that will linger forever - a credit that can be added to his monument. Shane, I have watched your documentary three times and it rips out my heart. I was lucky and found the love of my life when I was 25 and we were together for 4 years, then he fell into the party circuit and drug culture. I could not save him. He's still in touch with my family and still in drug rehab at 47 years of age. Your story touches me because it reminds me so much of us. I am like Tom, singer, song-writer, world traveler,a foreign language teacher and can light up a room when I enter. My partner and I were both attractive as are you two and we loved each other deeply. I pray this film reaches both gay and straights because your story is truly remarkable. I am so sorry. Like you a friend of mines parents barred him from seeing his lover while in the hospital. He recieved a phone call the night before the funeral inviting him to the chuch service and the burial. He was so happy as he thought there was a sense of mercy from his lovers parents and a sense of comprimise. He attended the funeral mass and the burial. He was invited to the meal after but during that he felt a sense of coldness from his lovers parent so he graciously left and return the home he shared with his lover for 10 years. Wlhen he opened the door a feeling of fear and dreas took him over. He walked in an a sense of shock overtook him. The realization that all of the furniture an antiques were gone. The bed and all of the pictures and items representing thier entire relationship and trips were all gone. He called the police - within minutes they arrived. After awhile the police came and told him to sit down. The empathic cops told him that his lovers parents had had all of there possessions removed. They said if you want anything bring this case to court and be able to show receipts and proof of ownership. This was before all gay marriage and he could do nothing./ They even denied the return of the bed he shared with his lover. I have never seen or heard of such treatment of a person with the exception of characters in history . That was his lovers parents -NAZIs I am so so very sorry for your loss. Hope you are going on with memories of love and self care and respect.

You know after reading some of the posts here... I would like to say,In regards to those people who have expressed an interest in maybe buying Tom's songs, i.e. 'Sincerely yours,' or others, and maybe you still haven't been able to?.. I think perhaps one reason why you are not yet able to buy his music anywhere, is because may be they have not yet been able to resolve the ownership rights (legal issues/ for example, probate, i understand can take years and years). For instance, who gets Tom's Royalties? You see until all these issues have been dealt with then it is entirely understandable why we are not yet able to buy Tom's music/songs. Hopefully there is someone out there who can shed more light on this matter? Tap,tap, tap.
