Amenra (pronounced ah-men-rah, just like you had it) are from Belgium. This song is from the album ‘Mass VI’ which was the last in the ‘Mass’ series of albums after they recently signed to Relapse. Newest album ‘De Doorn’ came out a couple months ago. You should check the video for De Evenmens from it. Their videos are all very well done and usually unsettling in some manner. Their main philosophy is essentially “pain as a means of realization and overcoming”, although I’m sure someone else could describe it much better than that. Their entire catalog is gold and there are full live shows on KZbin, if you’re interested.

Just about the videos - I remember showing this one to a film producer and she wasn't impressed at all... And it's a bit cheesy, I would say

@ yes? regardless my point still stands, films are not alternative therefore why would they be able to form an educated opinion on the production of non conventional media

In general it was written for the passing of "a" mother in general. Some months after recording the track the mother of the drummer passed away. So the song got an extra meaning. Greats from Belgium 😉🤟

Pure atmosphere, with riffs that hit like trains. Live performance is incredible. Would recommend Silver Needle Golden Nail or Boden from these guys that fit somthing similar, De Dodenakker is also a personal fave.

This is a polite but firm double pass for me...both the song and the visual were a little much for my tastes...I will be disturbed for the next few hours now.....hopefully I can get past it before dinner time.... 👿
