Sadly the ACA was hobbled by half of the politicians who didn't want to upset insurance companies. I don't think the financial penalty still exists. As far as the Merrill Lynches etc. listening to random women talking about this company or that company treating people poorly, won't happen unless their bottom line is impacted.

No need to blame Vince McMahon this time. It's the wrestlers own fault that they don't have benefits. If the wrestlers put as much effort into getting organized as they do at trying to steal each others spot on the card then they would have things like pensions and health insurance.

I would suggest your research the capital funding on these "othe rich countries" and you would see the truth. European countries pay far more in taxes to subsidize the healthcare. You wait in Canada to be treated for just typical routine procedures in the states. The French system is often seen as the best. Yet it routinely needs additional government funding to stay afloat. Not to mention thse "other rich counties" are half or less the US population. Furtheremore, the American Medical Association Doctors after WW1 eliminated anyone but trained doctores from treating people ie midwives and cut out poor people being able to see non doctors for negotiated prices. Also, they lobbied to have ALL medical conditions fall under insurance coverage. Insurance was then picked up by employers to attract new hires for incentive that wasnt taxable. Its called work benefits. The US has a patchwork healthcare system woven together instead of one overall system and changing it from the ground up is nearly impossible. Winston Churchill created the hospital plan for morale of the people, the cities were in rubble after WW2. My point is there is no system that will cover everyone with quality care, yet be cheap, It just cant be done without trade offs. Lets not forget young healthy people dont want to pay for sick and older people. Dont get me started on drug pricing and what hospitals charge. The overlooked cost is the huge rise of equipment and technology. X-Ray machines, MRI machines, not to mention the admin staff required in doctors offices that need to be paid. There isnt enough profit to cover a visit for a cold that will keep the lights on. Imagine your auto insurance compnay being forced legally to cover oil chnages, brake jobs and and any visit to a repair facility. Im sorry for the rant, but I get annoyed when people just say free healthcare for everyone. It shows just naitivity and emotional thinking. Its far more complicated than people realize. Medicine, technology, and trained people need to be paid for their services and we as an entire society will never agree on who does and who does not have to pay for other people to be healthy. Free government anything is usually ineffecient, corrupt, and most people abuse the benefit.

Not necessarily true. I worked at a place that was trying to unionize. We needed every department that would fall under that contract to vote for it. One department's manager scared his group saying they'd all be out of jobs as soon as it was passed, which wasn't the case at all. At the time, it would've amounted to $1.65 to $2.20 per hour more per person.

So, what if the US just had universal health care like a country that isn't garbage?

Wrestling injuries end up being a big cost to our society. It has to be done safely or not at all.

Not just wrestling. Preventative care is ALWAYS cheaper than reactive care.

What I'll never understand is why they don't change the ring, people would have longer careers, longer bump card and less injuries if they got rid of the plywood with the thin cushion over top of it. I understand it makes a great sound with the mic under the ring, but it's causing all these problems for your wrestlers and your business when a guy returns to company for big money only to get injured immediately throwing a wrench in your plans. It wouldn't put a end to freak accidents but would put a big dent in the problem I think.

@@judahofjudea4601 Yeah, at this point with audience sound piped into every sporting event, may as well just have someone trigger the ring noise and have a speaker under there.

The independent contractor thing is such BS. Unless they let you work for other companies on nights you are not needed it is a joke. Also, In every other western nation healthcare is a right and is provided by the govt. The pharma/healthcare business is running the show down in the states.

Sorry Shane, healthcare is not a human right. Believing you're somehow entitled to the capital of someone else is false and dangerous.

The United States is the ONLY rich country that has no universal healthcare. Our health care system is also one of the worst in comparison to other wealthy countries.

@christiankulfan4483 That is a Liberal talking point that get's schooled by facts every time. Look at the population of America vs the population of the other industrialized countries offering "free" health care. The system cannot sistan the people. You have no say who your dr is or where you can go. We also have the BEST health care. Where did you get your "facts" from? The daily show? MSNBC? The View? Or some college bar where the cool 7th year senior passed their ast knowledge on to you?

People in congress, the local government, the police, the military, road contractors, military hardware companies, and more get my capital all the time. We should stop all that stuff too I guess. It's sad that in a place where so many crow on about Jesus, that we'd just rather toss our neighbors aside for a few dollars.
