Former Chick-Fil-A worker here! When I worked there, the Drive Thru was more important than customers inside or mobile orders. Drive Thru would get the freshest food, while mobile orders would be skimped on and not cared about as much. This also counts for the sauces and silverware. Drive thru orders are more cared about when it comes to condiments than mobile orders and in person dining!

Hey, y'all, I used to work at Chilis Grill & Bar as a ToGo Specialist and I have some things to share with you about that establishment! So when you order chips and salsa someone scoops the chips early in the day and is usually just hiding under the to-go area for when people order it. We always give you a salsa when you order chips no matter what it is. For example: When you get 2 bags of chips from the to-go they are supposed to give you 2 salsas with those 2 bags of chips. For the Fajitas, we are supposed to give you a boat with all of the toppings that those to-go members clearly forgot. Also, the fries from the togo are heavier because of the water weight that was added staying in the box, as well as the more fries that were put into it. The to-go boxes themselves are naturally bigger so it makes sense for them to add more. For the Texas cheese fries we use a cast iron skillet, the same skillet that is given to you in the actual restaurant, we put it threw an oven and it goes directly from that cast iron into the to-go box. That person who was making your to-go Texas cheese fries sucks because they are supposed to be adding the same amount of fries in the to-go order. So basically when I was working there I had to make sure that the person who was ordering the food had to get the same amount of food as if they were in the restaurant themselves. But I always thought that if I got an order from chilis that had no salsa with my chips I would be pissed so I didn't want that for the guests when I was prepping the food. But, I do know a lot of other to-go specialists who didn't even try to fill up the to-go chips, the salsa containers, and the boat that came with the fajitas. Hope this helps Shane and the other people watching!

But where I was working it wasn’t very competitive mostly because everyone was to high to know what direction was left and right, lmao. But yea you had to work hard and keep your ratings up so you can keep your job. But everyone at chilis is really nice but there are some people that you work with that can just ruin everyone’s fun. As a chilis employee I can fully confirm that certain Togo items get less food, the pasta and fries are smaller portions Togo. The cooks arnt told to do that, the Togo portion is technically the standard of what it should be but it doesn’t look like enough food on the plate so they put more when it’s in house.

Former Chili's server here :) The chips & salsa are different because when you're at the table it's bottomless. I caught my former boss, at Cracker Barrel, doing this. I went back to the kitchen to plate my own to go order only to find him plating it. A coworker mentioned to him how it was a skimpy plate and he starts spreading to around and said “see now it looks like more”. He had no idea it was MY order. For Chili's, you have to consider the difference in the containers. To go has plastic & the to go container from inside are foam. The plastic would weight more than foam but also the plastic containers are a slight bigger than the foam containers.
