If the same companies are always hiring there is a reason for that. I work for Amazon in HR, its a revolving door and not because people leave, mainly because they only hire you in as Seasonal with the promise of full time, once your 6 month contract ends they don't renew it, they continue to hire in groups and just replace everyone but right now they are laying off 27,000 employees. So sure if you want to only have to work somewhere for only 6 months then it's for you but if you're looking for stability and full time then don't bother. Also they set your schedule, you do not have a say in it and you will work on Pacific Standard Time only so depending on where you live you can work until midnight. This video was recommended by YT because I've been looking for info on jobs available right now since I was one of the 27,000 they've laid off so far. Only being given a few days notice at that.

One reason Apple may always be hiring is that they have a ridiculous requirement that you have a separate bedroom (set up like an office with no bed) with a bathroom in it in which to work, and on interview, they want you to pan around so they can see it. So people with a one bedroom apartment are automatically disqualified based on where they can afford to live, and Apple just lost a potentially excellent employee. Happened to me.

Senior Sys Admin for a major semiconductor manu here. First off, unless you have many years of experience and in-depth knowledge of the systems a business uses, you’re not getting a $90k+ a year job. And almost all of them require a Bachelor’s degree. And it’s likely you’ll either need to know somebody that can get you in or work with recruiters because it’s rare that a tech company will hire someone without a superlative resume off the street. FYI, $97k is near the top of the salary range for *experienced* Sys Admins.

Remote IT jobs are even worse. It's super competitive and a race to the bottom when it comes to wages. You're competing with candidates in all 50 states, so you might be up against a candidate happy to take $15-$20/hour in a low cost of living state.

A lot of these top-10 videos that frequently mention career only mention the jobs that exist. Sometimes companies will have just 2-3 security personnel staffed but they can use their high salaries to push impressionable college students into cybersec, network tech, etc. It ends up wrecking the availability of adequately salaried helpdesk jobs

Current Apple employee. To say it’s relatively easy to get into is like saying Trump was our greatest president. There’s nothing easy about working for Apple at any level. I initially worked in AppleCare many years ago and since then have been on the hiring team many times. 1. Your resume and application gets put in a stack with thousands of others so the only way to even stand a chance at an interview is to know someone within the company who knows a hiring manager and can hand your application to them. 2. If you get called for an interview, that’s #1 out of many interviews and it usually ends up being about 10 months of interviewing. 3. Even if you do get called for consideration they do an extremely intensive background check through their own system which takes a while because it’s very thorough. So while they are “always hiring”, that doesn’t mean they are always looking to hire. By all means apply, but if you don’t know someone, you won’t ever hear back. That’s just the reality. This guy is setting people up for failure by not knowing anything besides what’s public knowledge.

I'm a client success manager. While the pay can be good burnout and stress are very high, especially if your ELT doesn't have a strong structure and departments don't communicate which is why they're always hiring. Also, you won't be able to walk into the position. Companies usually want someone with strong experience handling a BoB and they also want someone with some strong technical knowledge. You don't need to be an engineer but you should at least know some of the tech aspects of what you're servicing.

I'd give most of those a 4. I make $40K a year putting tape on boxes in a factory. It's 12 hour standing shifts. 12 hour shifts means I'm going into work 1.5 time less a week than a M-F job. And basically only working 15 days out of every 30. It's not hard work, or it wouldn't be 12 hour shifts. OFC never remote, and essential, so never locked down.

In spite of pay going down year over year, I actually got raises every year. The $37K was after $1.50 in raises for the year. This year only $0.50 in a raise. 2.5% in the face of 9+% inflation. My favorite success story is about a guy who was attending Howard University and he dropped out to pursue his love for music and become a producer. I know his mother almost died from a broken heart that he quit college to start a record label, especially when she found out that the label was going to be called "Bad Boy" and he only had 2 unknown & inexperienced artists, a singer Mary J. Blige and a rapper named after the gangster Biggie Smalls. You guessed it, I'm talking about Sean Puffy Combs !!! " Can't nobody take my pride! Can't nobody hold me down! Oh no! I've got to keep on moving! "

Thanks for the info! I have been looking for ways to get out of my career as a red seal journeyman plumber and journeyman class b gasfitter. I hate my job and have been looking at finding a career in technology. These simple jobs seem to pay as much or more than I made as a licensed plumber/gasfitter, and they also won’t make me permanently disabled, like plumbing does.. Back in the 80’s, skilled trades were good jobs.. They aren’t anymore, due to the erosion of their wages and workers rights.

Lol the industry is in a BOOM! if you contractor isn't paying enough/ has shit work conditions drag up and join the union. There's a lot to this business; if you're worn out and are having a hard time learn another skill like orbital welding. Very little stress on the body and your push button welding.

@@ChickensAndGardening Plumbing is too dangerous to perform in Canada, because of our collapsed healthcare system and WCB’s well documented “culture of denial”. Don’t become another sacrifice to this occupation! Businesses will lie to trick you into accepting a dangerous job. Careers are long term. Skilled trades will make you a disabled person before the age of 30. Don’t believe the lies, go in o college and find yourself a safe and sustainable career.
