Hi, I am getting the below error with PAx. **expression contains a tag that has an error value .........................** Could you tell me why is it happening?

Because your tags are not connected to the processor. Either through RSlinx Enterprise AKA FactoryTalk Linx shortcut , or through the tag just not being present in the PLC processor.

Rockwell has many different DCS substitutions. GEMS, PlantPax, and a few others. Good question!

Jose Gutierrez Options truly depend on the setup you have and what you are wanting. We have converted dcs machines to Rockwell GEMs and have a few applications on plantpax. Using FactoryTalk SE with alarm databases set up. When you say tag indexing, what are you referring to exactly? Tags are controller based and work with FTVeiw SE

Well I refer as “indexing” the leg work you have presented in this video to make reference from the object in the HMI to the controller. where I can find information about GEMs ? I would like to have only one application to handle graphics and control, seems easier than doing the retagging on the text files.

Jose Gutierrez Really, it rolls out to bring a modulus programming effort and very time saving compared to other software or even starting from scratch on your own. I do not mind using DMAT and PKML for servos but I use my own custom state logic as indirect addressing. From a dcs platform conversion, plantpax is the easiest to find and use for modulus programming and GEMS is Plantpax on steroids, meaning it can do so much more as it is a front end programming system. GEMS is a custom software package currently but Plantpax is for everyone. All in all, what exactly are you trying to do? Maybe then I could find you a better answer

The easy way is to make a macro or use the start client macro like I show then make a button and in the release action of the button go to macro and select the macro to run. There are a few other ways but it depends on what version of FT you are using. Thanks, Shane
