@@thedapperwrist by the way...this Shanghai Spider has very unique looks. I can see it's very rare, even here in Asia I haven't seen it including Aliexpress. Great choice!

That is a good-looking watch. My Shanghai 8120 Hand-wound is mind-boggling accurate, keeping in-sync with my Seiko wall clock. It is really too bad that people beeline straight for their 'Kontiki' homage instead of checking the rest of their lineup.

They’re not the only ones beelining, I got the blue dial version. Also picked up the black dial Lord Marvel 36000 wannabee. Both keeping good time too.

@@thedapperwrist They make for quite good review fodder. The best Shanghai hand-wound movement however past and present is still the SM1AK. Hopefully, you can get one in for review. Though it is harder to find now than the Tongji Exports, the Sea-gull ST-5 and the Prototype Automatic ST-7 watches.

@@possumsam2189 I have a few Sea-gull vintage 1980s 36mm St5 and St5b watches, and on my wrist at the moment is a Weixing 17 jewel 21 000bph hand wound watch from the late 1950s or early 1960s. It says Zhongguo Tianjin on the dial. I think it's a Sea-gull before they were called Sea-gull. I can't find any information on this very accurate 36mm watch. It's very slim at 11mm including the domed acrylic crystal. Any help with more information on this lovely little watch would be much appreciated.

@@neilpiper9889 It is probably from one of the Pre-seagull Tianjin Watch factories (Tianjin Clock and Watch Factory/ 天津钟表厂）with a 17-Jewelled Tongji movement.
