I bought a Zuan Shi diamond version in October. Champagne coloured dial with gold 12,3,6 and 9. For a watch that cost me AUD$60 with both black and brown straps, it is more accurate than many seiko automatics.... mine gains approximately 5 seconds a day. Brilliant watch.

I would say definitely Alloy case plated however so were many vintage watches from back in the day .The big problem with these alloy cases is they hate sweat and age very quickly which thinking about it is exactly what you want on a vintage .

You can ceramic coat your watch, and reapply it every year. Should help

3 months ago i got a NOS Baihua 37mm for 30 usd. I'm super happy with my purchase, no issues so far, i even suffered a fall from the stairs, when i landed first thing i checked was the watch and it was perfect!! I'm ok with it's size, looks tiny next to my Seiko king turtle but once on my 7.5 inches wrist it looks gorgeous! Perhaps i just got very fast attached to my Baihua because we together survived my accident, hehe. It's my first Chinese watch, and I'm so happy with it that im looking forward to getting a second, specially if it's a NOS because of the history that comes with the watch!

To say that my ala small Eterna Kon Tiki with the same simple Shanghai caliber is probably the most accurate out of my collection. Never regulated. A clear example of Less is More. Well done Shanghai.

I really understand what you said about starting to pay more attention to vintage watches, it happened to me too. I recently pulled the trigger on a Seiko Elnix and I can't wait for it to arrive. Love its looks and also the history that its movement carries. My favorite of the three you got is the green dial "Molghel", can't go wrong with green and gold with red details. I have a "QuanShi" with the same specs that I bought 3 years ago when they were not on aliexpress (I still can't believe I used that sketchy webpage they were sold in) and I'm very pleased with it. Accurate enough for the price and lovely fabric textured dial, really adds a lot of to my collection. Great review as always.

I just bought one. It arrived yesterday, not one in your review. Mine is the off-white, somewhat beige one with the Grand Seiko type of hands. I like it very much although one thing that concerns me is the crown is very difficult to wind and very “grainy”, it kind of grinds. I wonder if it will loosen up. I’m also pretty sure it is a bit thicker than the 8 mm stated in the description. I think it’s closer to 12 mm but it does wear nicely. I would’ve preferred the slimmer profile but not all that big of an issue. It’s pretty great for 50 bucks!

I have a beautiful sea blue/green sunburst dial 8120 movement winds so smoothly I have regulated it to within +3 a day changed the strap for a better one all told cost me around £50 3 yrs ago my daily beater watch it just keeps on ticking no problems whatsoever.

I collect Sea-gull new old stock watches with the ST5 and ST5B movements. The Shanghai watches are lower grade.

They look nice but they all require a maintenance since you got it. Amplitude on the green one is particularly low!

Save your money. New old junk. Mine ran for about a month and then the mainspring snapped. The dealer in China ghosted me. AliExpress ghosted me.

Yes but not all movements function with a high amplitude, some have a lower amplitude and i would expect something like this to have a lower one but as you saw the accuracy was good. I think the green dial was the worst.

I have a couple of those watches. I don't have the correct tool for opening the case back. A rubber ball will not open mine. The case back openers need to be ordered from Taobao which is a Chinese mail order company. Taobao is not available to western consumers. If you look on Aliexpress you can buy these watches cheaper. I have one I bought for 32 dollars and shipping was free. These are new old stock watches. They have some age on them. They are small watches and I find them hard to get used to how small they are. These watches look absolutely great on woman. Like I said, I have several and my wife just loves them and she occasionally wears them.
