The very beautiful, very talented and very versatile singer, actress, dancer, entertainer, performer, person, Shani Wallis never has received the accolades and recognition that she deserves! It should be Dame Shani Wallis! Shani Wallis is the only one who can perform this song! This song truly belongs to her! I have always loved Shani Wallis! Shani Wallis should have won the Golden Globe Award, the BAFFTA Award, the Academy Award and all the other Awards for best actress for her performance as Nancy in the classic, excellent, fantastic, terrific, and wonderful 1968 movie Oliver! The classic 1968 movie Oliver! is one of my favorite movies of all time! I was born in 1978 in the United States. Thank you for posting and sharing this brilliant, beautiful, classic, iconic, incredible and excellent performance!

as a child..I was mesmorised by Shani's performance as Nancy in 'Oliver!'...the highlight of the movie is when she sings..Shani is a classy actress and singer. 'Oliver!' is one of the last great movie musicals..thanks to a fantastic cast..Lionel Bart's music..and Carol Reed's direction. 'do ya luv me Biwll?'.... 'cors I luvs ya ..I livs wiv ya dun I?'... always did like that scene xxx

Wsh they would release dvd's of The Johnnie Ray show broadcast in England...more years ago than I care to remember. Shani was the resident girl singer...he referred to her as his little songbird...she was ace! Especially on "Johnnie one note" JOHN CRAIG

There were at least three solo albums: *I'm a Girl* (1966), *Look to Love* (1967), and *The Girl from "Oliver!"* (1969). This sounds like the arrangement of "As Long As He Needs Me" that was included on the 1969 album. Shani also appeared on the original Broadway cast album of *A Time for Singing,* the original London cast album of Harold Rome's *Wish You Were Here,* and on two 7-inch EPs of "Vocal Gems" from Irving Berlin's *Call Me Madam* and Leonard Bernstein's *Wonderful Town.* But strangely, her recording career seems to have ended shortly after her appearance in *Oliver!*
