It was her share of heartbreaks that made her a strong person. She had a choice at a very early age....to sink or swim. She chose to swim. She took on responsibilities that a young girl should never had have to of contemplated. That made her the fighter she became. Hiding & burying her emotions took its toll on her inner health. The beauty, she was given by god at birth & grew to the beautiful looking women we all know. Without fame & fortune she still would have been that beautiful looking women. John from New Zealand :)

I have visited the location that she filmed this video a few times here in NZ, such a peaceful place and i always think of this song as i stroll along the sand. I used to surf at Bethells beach back in my younger days when I lived in Auckland. Now live in Queenstown, just over the hill from where Shania's place was, still is, but not owned by her any more. It would have been quite a few years back that your Step dad meet her, lucky bugger, as she hasn't been there since 2008 :( I take it you are a Kiwi girl....made me laugh to see you call Shania's place at Motutapu Station, Wanaka a ranch. That is very un kiwi. LOL :) I agree with all you said about Shania. Pure class, pure talent, pure beauty with a pure soul. Did you see her NOW concert when she came here in 2018? I saw her in Dunedin which was her very last NOW World Tour performance. Despite living here for 3 to 4 months each year from 2004 to 2008 she had never performed here in NZ. Mutt Lange did help Shania tremendously & collaborated & wrote songs with her. He was her producer after all & a very successful producer in his own right with the likes of AC/DC, Def Leppard & Bryan Adams just to name a few. Know one has a crystal ball & can see how things may or may not have turned out for Shania had it not been for Mutt Lange. He has been instrumental in her success & came into her life at just the right time. No one can deny that no matter what you might think of him. I know Shania will recognise that too & just adds to the heartache & pain she suffered. It is just tragic the way it turned out....but that is love sometimes. Shit happens. Some times for a reason. Maybe there were lessons there for Shania to live through & learn & make her a better person than she already was. Her publicly sharing of her healing process through those tough tragic times have helped me & many others too. Of that I am thankful to her. If you haven't, read her book From This Moment On & watch her 6 part documentary series, which is in you tube, Why Not With Shania Twain. Merry Christmas. John from New Zealand. :)

Her very first music video was What Made You Say That. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fX7YnWSQd8mFo8U Which was her debut single from her 1993 debut album titled Shania Twain. The song is not one of hers but was written by Tony Haselden & Stan Munsey. Only one of her songs was on that album, 'God Ain't Going To Get You For That' kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6XPdGmEfsenaJo . The song, What Made You Say That & the album was not much of a hit. The song remained on the charts for 18 weeks & reached its peak at 55. The video clip was shot at Miami Beach, Florida in January 1993 & released in early February. I believe there was a certain Mutt Lange working in his music producing studio back in London who while doing his music producing had MTV playing quietly in the background. Like a lot of people would have a radio playing in the background. He of course being in the music business liked to keep up with the latest. One day while going about his business this video clip came up on MTV. It caught his attention & he liked what he heard & so looked up to watch it & see who it was. Obviously also liked what he saw, what red blooded male wouldn't. Without going into too much more detail the rest is history with Mutt Lange & Shania Twain & her fame & fortune. As beautiful & lovely as Shania is & everybody thinks he (Mutt Lange) is an idiot for cheating on her. He obviously fell out of love with her for a reason. As much as I don't condone the way he did it as I too know the heartbreak & pain of a marriage betrayal. My first marriage was for 14 years, the same as Shania's, & the same age, 42 when it fell over. We have all heard Shania's side of the story but not Mutts, & we never will. Maybe the age difference caught up on them. He is 17 years older than Shania & he had been married twice before. I do believe though that he is still with Marie - Anne, Shania's ex best friend, so must have found true love & his soul mate with her. The universe works in mysterious ways. Just as Shania has found love & seems very happy with Fred, Shania's ex best friends ex husband. So who are we to judge? As long as Shania is truly happy then I am happy for her. John from NZ :)

@@JohnWilson-cs7iq Some things need to be judged. And her best friend having it off with her husband is one of those things.
@JohnWilson-cs7iq4 жыл бұрын
@@Chris-kj7de I absolutely do not condone the way Mutt & Marie Ann went about their affair & all the lying & deniel. The stupid thing is the truth always comes out in the end. As upsetting & heartbreaking as it still would have been for Shania, if Mutt & Marie Ann had just fronted up a lot earlier with the truth & not lied & been so secretive with their cheating for so long then it may not have hit Shaina as hard as it did. Shania lays the blame with Marie Ann a lot more than with Mutt. But hey, it takes two to tango. Mutt obviously feel out of love with Shania for whatever his reasons are/were. He could just have been honest & up front & told Shania. Marie Ann must have had it in for Shania & it seems she was out to try & destroy her. Maybe it was jealousy, who knows. She got Shania's confidence & trust & then just worked on her. Hell knows no fury as a women's scorn & she just lead Shania on.

I might have enjoyed it too... for both her smile and her voice. Sadly, she was bitten by a tick on vacation in 2003 and contracted Lyme disease which led to problems with her vocal cords which lead to open-throat surgery for her... she is now singing again and while still MUCH better than me, her voice isn't the same as it used to be.

Yes that is sad but true. She cant hit some of those high notes now from her earlier songs that rocketed her to fame & fortune but her voice has a different dimension now & her songs on her latest album, SHANIA NOW, while still the beautiful lyrics that Shania comes up with & the story they tell, her voice is a bit deeper but still packs a punch of beauty. She has only done one video from that album, kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJ7KaqeMlrKJmpY There is one more but not of her performing but singing. A beautiful tribute to the armed forces. If this doesn't rip your heart out nothing will kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWTKlWiVnpeMnLM As you mentioned her being bitten by a tick & contracting lymes disease which affects her voice. I am just so glad she had the courage, grit & determination to make a comeback & do what she loves to do out of her passion for song writing, singing & performing for her fans. She is an icon & blazed the trail for many a female artist, the likes of Carrie Underwood & Taylor Swift, just to name a couple. Tyland, Shania’s story is one of triumph in the face of adversity. Her parents were killed when she was young, and she raised her siblings. She married her music producer, John “Mutt” Lange, and became one of the biggest female artists ever. She’s singing this song to Lange, and how much she loved him. She and Lange had one son. As a family, they moved to Switzerland. She befriended a local, and hired her as her personal assistant. Her friend was married to an Executive and the largest food company in the world: Nestle. His name is Frederic Thiebaud. Shania befriended him as well. In 2008, Shania and Mutt were married 15 years, and Frederic Thiebaud came to her and told her HER husband was having an affair with HIS wife. (Shania’s “best friend”). Frederic has hire an investigator, who corroborated that with a lot of evidence. Understandably, Shania was crushed. She confronted her husband, who asked for a divorce. She’s said the following two years were among the worst of her life. She and Frederic Thiebaud spent a lot of time together, since he knew, firsthand, what she was going through. For awhile, she lost her singing voice (due to stress). She and Frederic expanded their relationship, and were married on New Year’s Day 2011. Hrs helped her find a new music producer (since Lange was the only producer she’d ever had). He also assisted her in therapy to get her voice back. She had a triumphant return, with a long run of shows in Las Vegas. She wrote this song, which was a hit in 2017. Its a definite dig at her ex-husband (and what he did to her). Lange has a head of curly blond hair. Check out the photo she’s singing to in the video.

Her 1997 release Come On Over is the best selling album 'in the history of Country music and the best selling album of all time by a female artist in any genre having sold over 40 million copies worldwide, The 2002 release Up! was certified 11x platinum in the US (Diamond certification). In 2003 she was the only female artist to have 3 consecutive albums certified Diamond in the US. The following is a list of awards won by country/pop singer Shania Twain. In total she has won 188 awards from 1993 to the present day. She has won 39 BMI Songwriter Awards, 26 Canadian Country Music Awards, 12 Junos, 9 Billboard Awards, 5 American Grammys, 5 American Music Awards, 4 ACMAs, and 2 CMAs. I think Shania made men want to be better men because we all dreamed of having a woman like her. She brought romance to a lot of horny teens in a way they actually wanted it too. To this day I feel so much love for Shania and her music that touched me. Every man dreams of a woman who wants to build a family and who will love him the rest of his life. Sadly, it turns out to be a very rare experience.
