It finally clicked for me. I couldn't wrap my head around Imu choosing to focus on and request Vivi over Luffy or Blackbeard. Imu is trying to reset the conditions of Enis Lobby and the Marineford war, knowing Luffy will call his banners and ride to war over a single friend the instant he gets the news. Whitebeard, they waited for his Era to be at its end to end the threat. Luffy is 19 and awakened. If Imu knows about the prophecy, he might be trying to kickstart the war on his terms. Maybe fearing an alliance between Teach and Luffy to take down the government with an agreement to settle their score afterwards.

this video is genuinely so so gorgeous -- i've LOVED the revolutionary aspect of one piece. one piece just feels so real because it's grounded in the material reality of history, it's oppression and it's insurgency and it's a continuous attempt for the oppressed to be liberated from their oppression. i think it's so inspiring to think about it connecting to the diverse religious themes in one piece too because those religious contexts themselves developed in the real world, in the form of humans who were finding symbolic meaning in narrativizing their own history of oppression and their own liberation struggles (like moses and jesus in christianity freeing the slaves and mankind). oda's story captures this stuff sooo well!

@@rolf1819 yes all religious figures i think can be said to carry all the cultural context present in the populations that transcribed history into religious narrative -- i'm not pretending like any character in any human religious tradition is wholly good, women have been historically and are still today oppressed disproportionately and that's uncontroversial. remember these are narratives that were developed in reflection of the day to day realities of the people at the time -- we have no shortage of politicians today that hold both respectable and absolutely disgusting ideas. you won't find me pretending that holy figures are exempt from having their own disgusting acts or words be criticized. that has nothing to do with the clear parallels to specifically the liberation stories in the bible being written into oda's story

I think Roger was too early because the One Piece belongs to one person, and that person wasn't him. He wished he could've been born in Joyboy's era not only because that's the era leading into "true" freedom, but it's era where the rightful owner of the one piece will claim it. Shanks never went after it because he knew he couldn't access it either, but now that the rightful owner who no doubt holds the key (his haki, probably) he's hoping to secure it for Luffy, the true owner of the One Piece. It's also why the world government and Imu can't do nothing about it. It took an impossible power to create it, and only that power can access it. They can only hope keep others from getting to it. Just seeing it probably is enough to fill with hope due to the story it tells. Joyboy will return and claim what's rightfully his, and the darkness over the world will be destroyed by his light. That's my head cannonball. Let's see if it hits. Great! Video by the way 👍

We have not received any information to believe that Dragon, despite being a man who manipulates the power structures of the world regularly, is doing this for any selfish reasons. Unlike Crocodile, DoFlamingo, Enel, Blackbeard, and Imu, Dragon enables the common people to fight/to speak out against their oppressors. The common people, the working class whose labors give the wealthy their splendiferous lifestyles and appearances, are the ones least considered by historical tyrants and oppressors no matter where you look. 1000+ chapters deep, and with the parallels to Imu and the World Gov cited here, it would hurt, sadden, anger, nay crush hundreds of thousands (of readers and RA members/protected refugees) if Dragon suddenly changed colors. The same can be said for Shanks.

When Garp saw luffy using Conquerer Haki, he was not amazed. He said he inherited it. Which implies Dragon is a monster. So Dragon doesn't need Shanks Haki. Oda's leaving him hidden until luffy reaches him power level. I beleive Dragon is stronger than Nika atm. Luffy has alot of time to master Nika before the final war.

I don't think it's a matter of who's going to face off against Imu. Luffy's enemy is those that try to restrict his freedom and those of his friends. Dragon's enemy is the the world Government. Just thinking that some ancient fruits or God level fruits could have both a broken feature flight and site. As Enel can hear and control a vast area, Dragon may have a massive area of awareness and control with his fruit. Kuma had enough direct awareness of his fruit he saved 500 people his first go with it but we see his focus was never to find the One Piece. We also don't know if Dragon has the voice of all things, this coupled with an OP flying and spacial awareness. I think this would make Dragon way too strong but a reason why he is kept in the dark for so long.

Perhaps Roger told Shanks to wait for Joyboy🤔 dragon I feel like is gonna make another appearance here soon within the next two chapters. Feel like it'll be two but just me, if he does then yes we'll possibly see something from Dragon finally following him appearing. This was good stuff man, love the comparison and parallels and similarities of Dragon and Shanks. Loved the thought of if Dragon spoke with him(Roger)before as I see, everyone at the Execution that was shown, had admiration for Roger in some way, and so perhaps thats why he was there, and also for the world of one piece, that have to been an Important Day so of course would see him there, he probably looked up to him for how rivals garp and personally bested him as he did give himself up(yes we all know why) but I also could even see Dragon admired him perhaps and be cool if that was something that made him work even harder as a Revolutionary, perhaps he looked up to Roger and couldn't believe he turned himself in, (another interesting look with Dragon is imagine he finally gets shown enough to where he cracks his normal characteristics and acts total opposite of himself when hes not being serious like Garp and Luffy can get, lol in all seriousness is however way he lost Luffys mom is probably what made him even more driven towards his dutys perhaps . He such an interesting character, so is shanks but Dragon tho in my opinion he has a higher Level to it. This was very well this one could be on to something, Another great one delivered my Friend, Keep it up, as always, , and one last thing, seemingly Kumas BackStory which connects so much to so many points to the Story it almost makes sense to slowly bring more of Dragon in like that as of recently, as seeing the lil things like how Kuma got taken in by Dragon more less and it all honestly builds up the Character that much more, if that's the Case, Dragons a Mountain that goes beyond the Sky. I still got a feeling we will see something soon. Be pretty cool if so, watch him have a devil fruit but also the punches like Garp or he has some high level power that is parallel to the feats of Shanks Power, Shanks caught an Admiral while on a Boat miles away and he caused him to think oh snap, and not be bout that Life, & we've seen dragon calm collected, even when he stopped Smoker, so one thing besides the revolution is Luffy and i like to think he promised his Mom that he'd always Protect him....what im ending this with by saying all that, what will make Dragon get actually Mad? and what will somebody like him display when mad, surely Dragon ain't the Governments Labeled #1 Enemy, without having a Counter to their Powers, hes gonna be a Monster. & Right now everything is leading back to Egghead, Luffy was fighting a Goroie Sei, and it not looking the greatest, so what are the chances that surely Dragon may appear at such a Critical Moment here soon! Look up the Aztec Rain God Tlaloc. He has the power of storms wind and lightning. He is always depicted facing the East toward his place of origin. His progeny is clouds which i believe fits with the theory from Dawn Dusk that the Nika fruit has something to do with pyrobloin or the clouds in the One Piece world. I mean the way Gear 5 moves reminds me of how a clouds rolls across the sky, constantly changing shape and transforming in on itself. They call him the Sun God because the Clouds are in the sky with the sun or are the closest to the sun. Tlalocs wife was called "the Green Lady", and was represented with a frog. Im not sure if it goes that deep but it could be that Luffy's mom is connected to the Emerald City somehow. Also, it fits with Dragon and Luffy being connected to Mexico, Central, and South America. I may be way off but i believe that Oda has definately took inspiration from this.

You took the words right out of my mouth that I have written elsewhere (well almost the same words) about Dragon thoughts. This is a war, and there will be casualities. And I also belive he feels his own life is not priority, all is equal in this war. Because as long as someone that carries the Flame of teh Revoultion still lives then they can always fight back. Shanks and Dragon working togehter would have been sweet, but i also feel its to good to be true. I dont trust Shanks but I do agree he waited for Joyboy to arrive. But thats also cause he wants to challenge Joyboy, to see if his Destiny was to follow or to surpass joyboy. Cause in a way Shanks is also cursed or destined, a crossroad were he cannot find the answer cause he doubt himself. He was raised by a Great Pirate and the Will of D but he posses Celestial Dragon Blood of the lowest kind. Is he destined to defy his bloodline? Or destined to defy the Joyboy his captain wanted to see? But its true that the chess pieces need to move, a change is coming and with it a difference in the era. Maybe both Dragon and Shansk want that change, but its diffrent. Shansk want change to see if destiny can be faith or disaster, Dragon want change in order to end the endless now. It will be chaos, but it will also be what awakens the rest of the world. And that, will be, what they are after.

Very odd question but I want your thoughts on this. What if monkey d dragon is actually rocks d. Xebec? They have a similar appearance. Given the new reveals that rocks d xebec might actually have been a hero, if dragon is in fact rocks that explain why luffy wants to the "king of the pirates." I know it's a stretch but thoughts?

dont think he is. oda has increasingly made it clear the Rocks has some tie to Blackbeard. as to whether luffy and dragon and garp are genetically related, the idea they are not is dying down but is still kept alive by some grey areas.

All the theories about Dragon coming to Egghead island etc... thats not going to happen. If Luffy cannot even beat a Gorosei, how can Luffy beat Blackbeard / become King of Pirates? I'm sorry but Luffy need to resolve EggHead arc on his own. This time, all the odds against his favour. He has to do it with his crew, his allies, Daddy is not coming to save him. He is all-grown now. If Dragon comes and saves him, then he is not worthy to be an Emperor. Kaido was preparing a beast Army to take down the Gorosei & IMU, 6 legendary figures, Kaido was prepared to do it. And if Luffy cannot even take down a single Gorosei and needs his daddy help is so insulting to the One Piece storyline, so insulting to Kaido for being defeated by this wimp.

If he decides to invade the Holy Land when they arent ready to go to war with the entire world yet, he jeopardizes not only his own, but EVERYONE IN THE REVOLUTIONARY ARMY's hopes, dreams, and sacrifices too. It's a slap to the ones who have already laid their lives down for the cause. It's bigger than some personal matters. He's got a plan, and he's already sacrificed a relationship with his own father and son just to see it through. Who knows what else he's already given up. He has to have conviction for the revolution to work, or else it'll be a giant waste of time.
