I was wondering what are the dimensions of your boat, in terms of beam and clearance, in order to pass through all the locks and bridges?
@chrisdougherty3 жыл бұрын
Certainly. LOA 38ft. Beam 14ft. Draft 3ft 6ins. Air draft is 9ft 2ins. No issues with locks or bridges in any way re draft. We fit under Rooskey bridge without it being raised. Tarmonbarry Bridge does need raised. Never any issues with draft in locks etc. We have grazed random objects in small rivers, but never any of the canals. Beam is absolute maximum for Lough Allen canal, all other locks are bigger. Enjoy!

We have SAS flight from Helsinki to Arlanda Sweden, and change in transit area to Dublin. Last year we started Banagher(3 times Ireland republic Shannon waterways), now starting Killadeas, hoping to turn back latest Athlone)We hope to see you(we are 2 of us onboard I and my wife Katriina). We have Northern Ireland visitor flag on starboard side of boat. I have been working in public administration as financial manager, now retired, my wife has been as pharmacist. I see in your videos that you have nice family. We have been always happy in Ireland (visited about10 times), also on narrowboat from Rathangan, cabin cruiser 3 times before, Cabin cruiser also in Holland. My hobby is video making onboard container vessels (german, finnish) for companies for logistic control.

@@kalevilehtonen5955 Manor House boats are lovely. Our boat used to be a Manor House hire boat. It was Noble Captain III. What boat are you getting?
@kalevilehtonen59554 жыл бұрын
@@chrisdougherty Noble Emperor is big,but we did not get any other with both bow and Stern Thrusters. Silver Shadow last year was good,it has bow thruster only. Same Noble Duchess is also Haines 360,but it has bow and Stern Thrusters

Good morning,you have nice family,I appreciate you. Have you anything in mind,what I should know about "Noble Captain" -Is water tank about 520litres? -Engine power,how many horse power? (I always drive about 1400 rpm,and I have seen that then it takes quite little diesel) All good for you and your family
@chrisdougherty4 жыл бұрын
Manor House's new Noble Captains have less power now, mine is 91Hp. Expect about 6Kts at 1600rpm. Our water tank is about 400litres, diesel is 520.

Is there now problems with border Northern Ireland Ireland Republic if you cruise Shannon Erne to Ireland republic
@chrisdougherty4 жыл бұрын
At the moment, no. Some counties further south have closed, including Banagher. Northern Ireland is fine. Travelling across the border is also fine. At the moment, bars are closed in the Republic of Ireland.

Camerawork darting about too quickly - makes everyone dizzy.
@chrisdougherty3 жыл бұрын
Nothing to do with the camera. It's the transitions used in the editing software. I do confess that I did have quite a lot of footage to squeeze in. Probably too much for the length of the video. Thanks for your feedback.
