This A.B. performance was the very 1st time I saw Shannon perform on television. When she hit in 83 initially I had no idea what she even looked like because back then I was on the cusp of my 13th Birthday & only had heard her incredible voice on college radio at the time. These 2 songs in particular were bangers especially when Breakin really started poppin off. You had to live in that era to really understand. Fast foward to September 21, 2024 I finally see Shannon LIVE tonight for the very 1st time in the rain ☔ in Fall River, MA. as part of the Decades of Legends 🎟 41 yrs after the fact & her performance literally spoke to my soul. Shannon I'm so grateful to have heard your powerful voice in the early stages of my life then on wax & throughout the decades to coming full circle tonight LIVE in the flesh. Shannon is gorgeous. This is one of the very best songs of my youth. It's highly produced and engineered so not easy to sing live. She's lip syncing the chorus. Pretty much has to. What a great song though. An all time favorite.
