You can tell a great drummer not by how fast crazy they play, but by how clean and smoothly they play it. Shannon is so clean and smooth it’s almost like watching an animation. He hit every spot of every drum perfectly in the center and on time

While a student at the Univ. of Maryland in 1987 or 1988, Shannon and the boys in Wrathchild played in a bar along Route 1 just off campus. Those guys put on a show that was to not be forgotten. And the most entertaining band member was...yep...Shannon! Man what a show!!!

Insane. What a musician. This isn't just a drummer. This is Art at it finest. One of my favorites songs from one of my favorite bands. Going in to a studio with an Idea and creating this. Geesh. Would have loved to been a fly on the wall watching this process when this was all coming together . Incredible.

maybe you already know this video, but here is shannon larkin actually explaining the songs different parts and how they all come together. Same drum kit, same clothing as in this video, so it's probably "part one - explanations" very usefull if you're a drummer and want to play the song yourself ;) kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6TWkGWQiqqffqc --and here we are commenting on "part two - playing the song in full speed"

Ever since I first heard the song, I'm amazed of Larkin's drumming on it. It just sounds like one of those songs that are super-fun to play - having this awesome groove and intricate at the same time. Look at the man go - like watching fuse burning slowly to a stick of TNT before every chorus!
