Idk how a front office works but it seems like there is a weird power balance. The owner has the final say. Then there is the GM and the President of basketball operations. What's the power differences between them? How does Pelinka get more power if he has the same GM job? Is there no set job that they have? Does the President of basketball operations usually get to make the decision on firing a coach even if the owner likes the coach? Did Magic think he would have the final say in that decision? If the owner likes someone it doesn't seem like anyone could fire them without their permission. I understand stepping down when you can't make decisions like that but why would he take the job at all. Magic must of known the power hierarchy before accepting the job.
