I loved this - thank you so much for sharing your honest take on Junk Journal January - I felt the same for 'embossed' as you did for 'depth!' Wish we had such cool travel guides in the UK. Honestly, your whole attitude is refreshing and I feel like I can be more honest too. Thank you so much!

Wow at first I thought you were really an over your head. But as always you created something really cool. The Oklahoma travel guide has an excellent texture I love it every time I see yours. May you be enveloped in love's warmth, comforted by the peace that surrounds you, and supported by those who care for you, bringing solace and positive energy into your life, and may you find serenity in all that you do. I was challenged with depth but ended up loving that day the most! I was blessed enough to have a small pocket page to start. It did involve fussy cutting but I used a lamp tag with a fun shape and my scalpel was the key tool I used the most.

That sounds fabulous! I’m still thinking about it, hoping an idea will surface soon. Get it? Surface? Depth? 😂😂😂

I'm out of my depth when it comes to this home run. I got stuck on emboss because I already had a scrap piece of embossed handmade paper in my base pages & didn't want to bypass the prompt. _I cant find my embossing powders_ so irritated with myself but... another creator reminded me I had just watched a video on why we don't decorate our homes with ornate styles anymore. BINGO! 3 prompts taken care of in one fell swoop & a 4th already planned. You by far have surpassed me in _one prompt_ and made me laugh!😂👍

Hi, Shannon. So I sell appliances and their is such a thing as: Counter Depth Refrigerators. Except for the door, they are usually flush to the kitchen counter (24 inches deep), some are 25" deep. Also, the depth of the ocean or a water well, the depth of anything, will work. You got this. The Oklahoma Travel guide that I received for 2023, was a regular catalog, gorgeous by the way and very colorful.

I am right there with ya with the "depth" prompt!! Like WTF do you do with that?? But I don't know how you pulled this "embossed" junk prompt out of the air!! That was Amazing!!! I am going with the obvious on this prompt myself. Yours came out so good!!

You're very lucky you can send off for travel guides. Here in Australia, everything is now digital, catalogues, maps, travel guides and even most magazines. Finding paper junk mail is like looking for hens teeth.

Do you have a local tourist info place? They often have area guides. I have one nearby in Richmond/Windsor NSW and they’re great and helpful

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous of that Oklahoma cover!! It was years later when I stumbled across that video of yours, and they'd long since moved on. I started my En Masse collection, but it's just not the same! Sending Coffee Hugs from Florida! P.S. Would you PLEASE do a flip thru of that big chunky, deliciously embossed En Masse Journal in it's current state?? I'd SO love to see it!

@melisa635526 күн бұрын
Well, that worked out well! Embossed is the one I'm skipping because I have nothing embossed nor fancy scrapbooking supplies. For depth I went with a depth of field idea and used an image as a flip in the foreground overlapping a background image. Easy and let me choose whatever theme I wanted to work with. Embossed is not a very flexible prompt, though.

Your page is stunning! In terms of depth, what if you cut holes on several pieces of junk mail, starting with small and getting bigger with every layer. Then, behind all those layers, you could have a piture from a product or magazine to showcase. TFS ❤

Love the cover! If you want to use the depth prompt, an image of a night sky or of a galaxy may work. I read that the "depth" between earth's atmosphere and outer space (the Kármán Line) is 62 miles. Hoping you are having a happy new year.

I wish I had more to share! For embossed you could try pressing paper down on a stencil…use a stylus or even a popsicle stick to press the paper and trace the design. You could put aluminum foil on a stencil or any textured surface and rub it to emboss the design into the foil. You have options!
@AlpacaMade26 күн бұрын
Do you have a score board? If so, score some lines on the back-side of your piece, turn it over & you have embossed lines. Proceed decorating to your heart's content. No scoreboard? Score those lines with your base paper sitting on a magazine, ruler & a knitting needle, crochet hook, dotting tool or anything else you can "draw" a straight line with that won't puncture your base paper. Have a ball with it ;)
@kathywiseman794426 күн бұрын
Do you have a glue gun? You can make a design with glue and either paint over the design or cover it with aluminum foil. ☺️
