another great educational video. Matt, you're such an inspiring and calm teacher. You're a great guitarist and at the same time a humble person. Like most Irish guitarists, you're holding your plectrum with two fingers instead of three. That's why I switched from 3 to 2 also. It gives me more flexibility in my wrist. Thanks for sharing your experience.

And palm muting is a pretty excellent strategy. It can add a color and a rhythmic feel that really blends with a melody instrument.

Having started as a metal guitarist where palm muting is very prevalent, it's nice to have it explained and implemented on an acoustic guitar as well. 👍

It's a 00-12, a custom one from the Music Emporium in Lexington. For years (and in many vids on this channel), Matt played a 00-1.... and in the thumbnail is a Bourgeois OM, which he was just holding.
