Stunning! I'm Japanese, living in Canada. I was in Australia for a few years, on a scholarship and truly miss it! I learned all about 4x4s and fell in love with overland touring, while there and have been addicted ever since! I rented several touring ready Land Cruisers while there, including a 79. Unfortunately the setup too floaty and bouncy, but man it was incredibly capable! It was more like a trail toy than a tourer! Awesome rig! This was super nostalgic and just makes me miss Australia, even more!

SE built 79 series are the best looking ever, better looking than PCOR and MITS. I believe the are practical, rugged, reliable as good as it looks. How amazing would it be to tour around the world in one of SE 79s. Unfortunately fantasying is all i could afford.

have a question but not related to this particular video . . . 4WD SUVs & light pickup trucks equipped with a 2.0 in. or 3.0 in. suspension lift actually has different level of lift between the forward & aft suspension setup . . . if the front axle has a true 3.0 in. lift the rear axle has something like a 2.6 in. or 2.5 in. lift . . . why is the lift less at the rear? might as well have a true 3.0 in. of full spec suspension lift both at the front & rear . . . if not why???

That is a good question. Suspension manufacturers base their lift kit finished heights on a number of things, but mainly vehicle weight. To correctly estimate the finished height you need to calculate how much weight your vehicle will be carrying in the front and rear independently. For example bull bar, winch and dual batteries will make the front dip if not accounted for, so you need to specify that when ordering springs. In the rear, the tray, canopy, extra fuel/water and a towing a caravan can greatly alter the vehicle height. That's why sometimes you see our vehicles higher in the rear, its because we have accounted for and allowed the vehicle to carry extra load or a heavy trailer for example.

I can suggest to place the wateroutlet and air-one NOT in the back. That´s for sure the most dirty area at the truck. Ans in AUS even more than in the old world. You have beautiful boxes ... Mine, both, are in a sidebox.

Our air outlets are inside the rear two toolboxes for dust and quick access to the tyres. The water outlet is fully dust proof with a rubber boot and is at the rear to allow for connection to a caravan or camper trailer to access the vehicle water supply. Its also accessible from both sides.

How come you guys don't do many 300mm extensions? Its probably the best mod you can do for the 79 with all the weight you're putting on the rear. Makes them much more stable on road
