Dhruv Rathee clearly stated violence and evil characters should be shown in a particular way and not in a heroic way. There is no redemption in Animal movie or Kabir Singh, they remain hero till the end which is why it makes it toxic. Dirty picture is dirty too but Vidya balan is not shown in a good light. No body will be inspired by what she played on screen bcoz the grey lines was reflected subtly through the movie.So good and evil characters need to have it's own consequences. His wife left him. His dad jiske liye vo itna pagal tha, pata chalta hai he is diagnosed with cancer and only few months are left until he is dead. His whole family has been destroyed. I have seen both videos , and both are biased. Both have done well researched and point out their Targeted portion. Films don't influence a society; the society influences films. A film is a reflection of the society. One can choose to moan over the bad reflection or not even look at it. But the image remains whether you wish to accept it or not. Films can never change the moral values of a person as they depend on his/her upbringing and education. I've watched countless films with extremely problematic lead characters but I've never even thought of copying them. I see them as troubled individuals that need help. They serve as a reminder of what not to become in life. If someone becomes morally corrupt just by watching a few films, there is a serious issue with the individual's upbringing, social circle or education. If films had such a huge influence on people, why haven't most people embraced progressive agendas and revolutionary ideas? Critics shouldn't burden films with their own morality. A film can be whatever it's maker wants it to be.

I can paint the most beautiful girl in the world, but if a guy jacks off to that painting its not my art that at fault, it's the perception of my art in the mind of a backwards audience. Animal is made for mature audiences, and it should be judged that way. If the general Indian audience watches 'taxi driver' and tries to kill people to fix the world, that is not the movies fault, it is the audience that lacks maturity. Anything illogical in this movie also exists in many other Bollywood movies, but specifically nit picking this movie for those points because you disagree with the impact it's making is deceptive. There is a difference between portrayal of violence in Anurag Kashyap films and Sandeep's films. Anurag depicts it while Sandeep celebrates it. Watched the movie a couple of days ago and I just can't fathom why some people are bashing it for no reason. I loved it SO MUCH. Brilliantly written and executed story about an unhinged main character. It doesn't justify ANYTHING from Ranvijay's character and all of his negative actions have some ramifications or consequences. Geetanjali's brilliant monologue calling him out for his toxic behaviours and her slapping Ranvijay multiple times made it absolutely perfect and showed that the script is not glorifying any of his actions.

It’s called “giving a choice to the audience”. Gangs of Wasseypur was narrated such a way that all those killings and blood shed were not stylised but was shown as a reflection of their everyday life. The filmmaker gave a choice to the audience wherein they can choose right from wrong. Animal on the other hand glorifies the protagonist so much so that the killings adultery misogyny and regressiveness is blatantly justified. That is exactly where the problem really is. Portraying a character is different from worshiping a character. Animal worships, GoW portrays.

Ban every James bond movie, Terminator franchise, ban S.A.W, wrong turn, ban Fight club, ban Blood diamond etc. We might also have to ban Indian movies/series like Raman Raghav, Satya, Sacred Games, Mirzapur, etc, because they also not only showed violance but also glorified that. In short, ban the whole movie industry. Either take pure moral position and make movies like Chak de India, Tare Zameen par, A beautiful mind etc, all the time without any sort of bad influence with social messaging. Otherwise, allow all sorts of movies. I don't like this double standard hypocritical attitude of people. In the last 20-30 years middle east has faced millions of casualties due to their own infighting ,bombings, and many more sort of crimes, including sexual assaults. If you compare those casualties with reference to these movies influence on people, then it's not even a drop in the whole water tank. He may be biased, but on the Gangs of Wasseypur vs Animal comparison bit, how are we completely missing out on the fact that both movies have entirely different messages. The whole point of Gangs of Wasseypur was to convey that violence and criminal ways can never lead to a happy ending. Morever, nothing of this was glamorized in Gangs of Wasseypur. It's not wrong to portray a dark side but it's glamorization is.

Well I do believe that cinema and media introduces changes in our societies. I don't agree with Manoj Vajpayee, he is a good actor but not a good observer. Cinema and media culture bring the traits that is very well followed by youth, like seeking and making relationship, stalking, gang-war, embracing smoking, alcohol and party culture. This video is actually good Shan .. Even I liked the movie Animal - for the acting, direction, bgm and hall experience. That's it. I am not taking any toxicity shown in the movie to my home or letting any negativity shown , hamper my way of thinking or behaving.
