In China, Kungfu is the title of martial arts. There are many types and schools of martial arts (or Kungfu), and not all Kungfu is Shaolin Kungfu. Just because some Shaolin monks insisted on martial arts practice as a practice course, people all over the world did not see their Buddhist practice and physical and mental practice. They misunderstood the Shaolin monks and Buddhism, and misunderstood the philosophical connotation of Chinese Kung Fu. Now, there are many other types of martial arts that fake Shaolin Kungfu or Shaolin monks, cheating people everywhere to get money. Moreover, only the aspect of fighting is shown, and there is no philosophy and teaching of physical and mental cultivation at all. These are fake Kungfu, fake monks, fake Shaolin.

yeah but you also must have mass, smaller muscles means less power on impact and poor defence, but not too big muscles or you will drain stamina quickly or in another words, no matter what engine you put into car, tank will always crush car the only way shaolin could won against some trained beast vital parts, but if you miss once it could cost shaolin whole fight beside training to give punches you must also train hard to be able to receive some and still be able to be on your legs theres no better way than building hard muscles then destroying your ski and muscles and your bones until they become hard like a rock, making shield of your body but this training requires a lot of sacrifice and only few are strong to go through it do even then nothing is for sure, if someone throws sand in your eyes of something similar and blinds you for few seconds you are gone and all your training is for nothing so tricksters are sometimes strong like those who committed whole life to extreme training

At certain age I started to question the usefulness of kata, the pre-studied movements. I still question their usefulness. I studied them during karate, but it never taught me how to fight before I went into kickboxing. When a dancer raises his leg with force, it doesn't mean he can apply it in real combat. To me kata is more of a dance than fighting skill. I respect these shaolin physical skills though.
@shaolincorinth3 жыл бұрын
Right, but the shadow boxing is a part of every martial art, this is the ultimate way to control your mind and body. After this, you can learn kickboxing or everything else very easy and more effective. Technic is the base or progress.
@kimgysen103 жыл бұрын
@@shaolincorinth It's a part, but actual skill came to me most by real sparring where you can actually get hurt.
@SparrowNoblePoland2 жыл бұрын
My suspicion is as follows; Chinese and Japanese cultures are extremely formalized and have been so long before Europe achieved similar level. So maybe their martial arts are also more of codes of duelling which are supposed to allow for 'last resort confrontations' to be somewhat more civilised and more like a game for points rather than something aimed to hurt anyone, plus perhaps offering some fighting skill against roughs who can't fight at all. I suspect that, because such evolution has been visible in European martial arts. Modern sports fencing is nothing like XIXth century duelling style fencing, and it would not be practical in combat at all. Then again, XIXth century styles are somewhat slower and more controllable than earlier techniques. In XIXth century saber styles you could decide what kind or how much damage would you like to do to opponent and you can control blocks and strikes, while older techniques, such as some the XVIIth saber, fighting style were more about executing sequences of cuts and parries, which had to be strictly connected because of pendulum given to the weapon and could be controlled only by muscle memory, and were aimed to give maximum damage to maximum amount of people in minimum time and were generally most effective against unskilled common soldiers. When two swordmasters met back then, a fight could end in seconds with both opponents being knocked out by each other. Obviously in times of peace and for duelling purposes such styles were extremely dangerous and thus not very suitable for duelling unless you wanted to kill or permanently cripple someone and were willing to take risk of being wrecked yourself.
