I absolutely LOVE the Shaolin Monastery. Many lifetimes I have thus lived among those halls. Spontaneous action arises from the natural or authentic self. The natural or authentic self is only born when there is no-self. No-self can only be achieved when one goes beyond the dual world and transcends into the non-dual realm. It is here all mental conflict drops away and one's mind becomes as quiet as a bottomless river flowing through eternity. Images are seen but not grasped or held. All is known without having to think or mentalize. The senses are as sharp as knives and yet never cut. All is one and one is all and yet, there is no all and there is no one.

@43:30 Amazing. It appears that Reiki originates from the Shaolin Monastery, not Japan🤔

There are a few things that are wrong or misleading with this. First, Zen Buddhism is Japanese not Indian so for Bodhidarma it would have been just Buddhism. Second, he didn't take martial arts to China, 400 years prior to the birth of Bodhidarma a Chinese monk had travelled to India and stayed/ lived in his village where he taught the people martial arts. He was so loved that the local Maharja had a special tomb made for him with fighting figures on it. The reason that Bodhidarma is held so high in esteem is because he is seen as an auspicious person and Chinese culture likes to link to all things auspicious.

So glad you mentioned this ! The biggest myth is that Bodidharma taught Chinese martial arts
