Shaolin Kwan Dao is one of the coolest weapon in Shaolin Gong fu! Awsome form.. Amituofo!

@pervertt The blade is spring steel. That's why he has such fast speed. Combat steel is thicker, stronger and heavier. the one from Tiger claw weighs 8.5 lbs. as opposed to 16-20 pounds for real ones.

Many Kwan Dao "masters" I have trouble believing that they could actually use it to any degree of proficiency to defend or attack someone. However this guy I believe could deal some damage lol

@stealthassassin8 I was thinking the same think. The shaking blade does no let me see the direction of some cuts. A proper guan dao is what this great performance needs to be appreciated.

Question - does the dvd cover kwan dao basics or just the form? Thinking of buying it :p

@ApprenticeOfAnubis I'm not doubting the weapon is deadly. I believe its very deadly. I'm saying that a lot of the demonstrations on youtube, from so called masters, look like the wielder can barely keep the dao from cutting off their own leg, let alone use it in actual combat. This practictioner is one of the few I've seen on youtube who I believe can wield it effectively.

This dude is a wushu practitioner. The weapon look as if its extremely light. You can see the blade warble around. The actual one I saw and picked up was quit heavy. The instructor explained to us that it was supposedly used to fight horseman, as or so the legend goes. The formed I learned was spear from a master who later told that it was an actual Kwan-Dao form, but being who he is never told us up front. That form had no stances, and was a continuous flow and used the tip to slice, stab. It's a brutal weapon no doubt

1) I paid money for the VCD. In the VCD there are no copyright warnings. 2) By posting this video clip I get no benefit, I just want to promote martial arts. 3) Did you advise other millions who post video clips to remove them ?

Learn from an experienced master, You can order them from china as 10-12 lbs. Don't know if they are steel

the blade seems to be overly flexible...my Bisento(Gwandao) is more substantial(I do Hung Gune and Okinawan weapons)

It seems that's by design. I would postulate 2 reasons 1) These are demonstration weapons, and are meant to minimize damage even when practicing with force. 2) Judges of the performance may be looking for indicators of that snapping motion. You know what I mean. When someone performs a cut in and with the right motions the entire blade shakes at once and the weapons snap and clap.
