The wing chun master said that the difference between ring fight and street fight is the purpose of fight. On the stage, fighters are using their skills and reactions with each other in a fair condition to fight to the end. But, on the street, there is unfair competition situation. You will face a man or some men who are angry in hell want to kill you. That be totally different situation than on the ring fight. The martial arts are increased to defend or kill someone in an efficient and prompt ways to make your enemies stop fighting. It likes the Bruce Lee said just one punch, all gone!

They were basically talking about the differences between fighting on the ring and fighting on the street, Master Tu said that most of the traditional martial arts are not doing good on the ring is because the training is focused on how to quickly take down one guy who is in the rage, like a angry drunk guy at the bar who is attacking you with no reason. Which means the guy in the rage will most likely to attack you for real (with no fake moves) and also more aggressive, trying to hurt you with one full body swing. He said that traditional martial arts is going to do well in this kind of situation, because what they training for is how to counter a certain situation like this, but not to fight someone in the ring knows how to fake a move, dodge or fight with a strategy. Sorry for my shitty English.

This is not fighting. It's choreographed and practiced countless times to look good on film. This is not how a fight would go, there is no predictability with this in a real situation. The masters would be disoriented & confused in a real scenario because they are not used to someone other than cooperating actors.

@@RealRivalDieHard Be careful. There are many fake teachers and snake oil salesmen and also those who just cheat their students, especially laowai. The cultural Revolution destroyed a lot and many top teachers fled. Many years later someone realised they could make money and then then just reappeared. Now many Chinese are not interested in their things. I loved there and the locals all played basketball. Only foreigners did taichi and kungu in unis I saw. The elderly locals in parks. Thus perhaps us waiguoren respect their traditions more than many locals.

Thank you Master Tu, and Shaolin temple. We wanted to thank-you and encourage you with a style; like we are drinking tea as we should be.! !Light more:( Light 4). light -light-light -light, to all uncomfortable situations. A skill We coin here “lightnessnessnessness” or “Dark night light” Lighter than average lightness to add with, a childish appreciation. If you train light, this would be a second approach and adaption to light. Like a child it sees all here (and what he/she likes )as really perfect. It’s coined Because it’s colourful like you and it appreciates multiple layers to context. Like a moon rising to be a friend even if we are defeated and soiled and distorted, a master who oils and cleans and states “Will all official lawful, un mean, ugliness in the inner man we know, or fear today come to be known as another form of true beauty to re analyse. Moon-Willow Moon Light. Moon Willow sun heart, light-light-light-light blessing and asking can we utilise this adaption? Lights second, reverence. Lighter than a scar, lighter than sand in our eye. A friend of gentle and a new day and a aside, a real friend coming to stay forever with honour honour and honour. Exciting me with Moon’s second lift. And like our skipping Kangaroo we Bounce Bounce Bounce while we hop hop hop. After hard analysis it moves ugly to soft. Analyse its next steps are we 2 parts full to 2 parts empty, zen should we move and morph the ugliness and it’s caging true men and woman against there inner man inner woman and inner quest and inner best. “ Dark night light” to Light light light light. Moonlight 4. That’s tea to me now I’m going to drink a coffee Sunbeam” Peace and much earth strong love and support. One love.

Xu Xiaodong's issue has always been phonies who have made public outrageous claims. He has only challenged them to expose them. The idea of him challenging people to somehow boost his image, or make money is wrong. He has not profited from in any substantial way from these matches other having gained some online notoriety. In fact his social credit score in China, as well as his various online accounts have been deliberately damaged directly by the government for perceiving him as insulting Chinese culture, which he has in fact been trying to do the opposite.

The think I love about kung fu is the mutual respect practitioners have and the passion they have for their art. I love it. I just do. Deadly men discussing their techniques with modesty and respect for each other. It’s something that isn’t seen so commonly in America.

True....there are many many good fighters dont choose the money and fame. Western thinks they know it but give an weak example of martial arts. Thats why people back in the days dont like Bruce Lee to show the art in the West. To arrogant, superior but dont know anything at all iny opinion.

@chirovandenbos2339 in almost anything the youth especially in the West think they know it all and better- they don't. Even some mature adults try to create a new martial art or a new spiritual system, and they create a failure. Thorough learning, practice and insight plus achievement are needed. In some cases, don't even try to create a new way, the way that was already provided is effective and all that one will ever need. The West produces a lot of ego about oneself that blinds one from seeing the truth that is already there.

I was lucky enough to live in a town years ago that had two Wing Chun schools (ultra-rare) and two teachers, one from Pan Nam lineage and the other from Ip Ching lineage. I had to move away and stop training, but the things I learned stuck with me and I've brought some of the ideas into different arts, including BJJ, to good effect. Most of all though, I just loved Wing Chun. I loved training, loved Chi Sau, loved sparring. It taught me how to move my body in very important ways. I also learned a lot of old Chinese philosophy along the way that I still contemplate today. If I had a school where I live now, I'd sign up immediately just to enjoy this beautiful art again. Say what you want about "usefulness" of traditional martial arts on the streets. What I know for sure is that this art was transformative for me at a time when I needed it most in my life.

What I find interest in watching this is the solidness of his presence. His movements are so practiced, so deliberate, instantaneous and through all of that, his body seems just be cemented to the floor. Purposefully anchored like a building. To me it’s a ridiculous sense of power.

This is beautiful to see the arts come together to teach and learn, i love it.I also study wing chun now. I've read and studied all of Bruce Lee , ip man, Sameul kwock books and philosophy. Also, being a 3rd degree black belt in taekwondo pushed me to learn more .Martial arts is the best gift you can give to yourself and others. To my brothers and sisters of Shaolin.

Many do not realize the top practitioners in many styles of martial arts are teaching masters of their chosen arts who do not compete in competitions, but just choose to teach others the mastery of the arts and their mental selves. This has always been the truth of the greatest Masters of martial arts arts around the world throughout history. Actual use of their deadly knowledge came 9nly as necessary, likely only applying applying an amount of force necessary to neutralize an attack.
