Tu Teng Yao is the master of Wing Chun and is currently the influencer of it. He is from southwest China and is currently the head of the Chongqing Wing Chun Association. Some of TU TENGYAO local works. Training the Flight attendants. That wasn’t a rumor at all. In 2014, Southwest airline college signed a deal with the Wing Chun master Tu Teng. That he would train their flight attendants to the best of Wing Chun. The Airline college added that Wing Chun is a very good close-combat martial arts, and it will be best in the airplane’s confined places. In 2015, he eagerly trained a whole college as a part of China’s Counterterrorist training. He trained a college filled with 20,000 students. Thanks to this large scale of Wing Chun training, they also made a record. And you know what record I am talking about: The deadly famous Guinness World Record. Now you would know that this was not some online article. The fact should not be ignored that nowadays China who is the origin of many different martial arts, is now counting on Tu Teng Yao.

I've watched this three times before this comment. People who say WC doesn't work in a real fight need to see this. People who train in WC need to be inspired by this. This Si-Fu trains to be an effective fighter, watch the areas he strikes (numerous times), how he protects and attacks the centerline, use of short-range power hitting through the target. The movements on the Mook Jong. I would warn about certain strikes using palms, pick areas and angles that won't risk damaging the wrist, slowly build up speed and power to reach this level. I am 69 and have been training in martial arts since my mid-teens, 12 years of Wing Chun under sifu Joseph Cheng, 5 yrs of amateur boxing winning 10, drawing 1 and losing 4 fights, I achieved a 3rd dan in TKD and trained in Judo for several years. Relaxation and breathing are the keys to being a great martial artist( As well as regular training of course) I have met many great martial artists along the way coming to understand it's more often the man than the art that makes greatness. From what I have seen of this man he is a great exponent of his art, ( By the way, in my opinion, the art that will make you a competent fighter in the shortest time is boxing) I also think the most overrated martial artist in history is Bruce Lee although through his films he had a great influence in spreading the word about martial arts and encouraging many to start training. I myself started training in Wing Chun under Sifu Cheng a couple of years before Bruce Lee films hit the west, our club had around 15 students before this and nearly trebled in size afterwards although around half of the new students dropped out once they realized how long and how much effort was involved in learning martial arts!

Master Tu Tengyao your form and training is amazing. I wish there were English subs to understand your content. There are many traditional great teachers in China when it comes to Wing Chun or other martial disciplines. However such excellent traditional teachers very often do not have any English subs on their YT channels and reach only Mandarin Chinese-speaking audiences. Having watched some videos, I thought to myself, well it looks like you have to learn some Mandarin Chinese if you want to understand native speakers. But I am also a realist. It takes at least 5 years in any language to get to the fluent level. May I ask if you do add some English subs to your videos, please keep the Chinese subs alongside as well.

It's not about, that some MMA Fighter might beat him in a real Streetfight. But this Guy is a living Ip Man. 90% of any human has no chance against his technique and he could defend himself and others against the most Attacks. It's not about to be the best. It's about the way of living and mental strength. I think if it's not for the fight who is the better one, just for self défense purposes he could beat the best MMA Fighters in the World, just for a second laying them down with one of these powerful fast combos. Enough time to get away and avoid a fight. That's enough.

Do you think that MMA fighters like to be a street fighter so fight on the streets or street fighters would be MMA professional trained so fight on the streets instead of in the ring?

No one can make an true judgement of his ability In reality because he always shows prearranged choreographed self promotional rubbish....which suggests he is likely just a big ego motivated by money with limited ability against noncompliant opponents in unrehearsed situations.

@@WingChun108 In total I learnt Wing Chung for 7 years. My grand master was William Chung My Sifu was Rick Spain I also had the pleasure of meeting and training with Wong Shun-leung on two occasions. One thing about Wing Chun. I have only seen a few people who have a very good stance. In my opinion few have mastered each & every technique before trying wanting to learn more. I did learn 12 sets of the wooden dummy but I had to accept the fact I could not effectively apply all I had been doing, so I stopped. Its ridiculous how quick judge one style against another. Asking a Wing Chun master to fight with gloves on is absurd & anyone who knows anything about Wing Chun knows it. I have yet to see a good Wing Chun fighter in MMA. Its not because Wing Chun is not effective. I know as do you but why dont we see it ?

I like his approach. It's not that he's the ultimate master. He's just one of the few "internet available" wing Chun guys who uses the "concepts" in a realistic way. Truthfully speaking most of the moves in Muay Thai are in wing Chun, but very few "internet wing Chun" guys have the common sense to throw a knee. Or use the plethora of situations that can be created by the ambidextrous footwork. Internet wing Chun is super rigid. I like his representation of the style.

Thank you for your comment. Many styles are similar, the difference is only in the nuances. And the styles are great. The main thing is that people like the style.

I like Master Tu's video clips, but believe that his skill level deserves more -- a serious feature documentary, at least 30-40 minutes long, with in-depth interviews, subtitles, insights into his life, diet, training regimen, students etc. The silly music in some of his clips detracts from the seriousness of what he's doing; viewers can learn more from the actual sounds in the training hall. With a good student-translator (unless he speaks English himself), Master Tu could be doing international wing chun seminars all around the world.

Lot of people thinks wing chun cannot apply for real fight situations. It can be proven wrong only by showing them. So i think if you fight some mma, muay thai fighters and show people, i think they will understand about wing chun more and you can promote the art throughout the world 🥰❤

Wing Chun needs to show more fights against non-wing Chun fighters. A range from novice to advanced fighters who practice different arts. I have yet to see Wing Chun dominate mma fighters. I stared practicing WC this year and replaced a lot of traditional WC movements with movements from other arts due to speed and effectiveness in real street fights. More and more people are learning mma and the chance of meeting someone on the street with this knowledge is greater. I love wing Chun but the masters need to answer the call and teach the rest of us. I can see why Bruce Lee made the decisions he did. We don't care about art purity, we care about winning fights. If there is a place to learn more modern styles of WC, can someone please let me know. Also if I'm wrong please correct me.
@WingChun1082 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great comment my friend. In traditional (not sports Wing Chun) there is everything that is in MMA. Sports Wing Chun kills style as such. In real traditional Wing Chun, there is both a striking technique and a throwing technique, work on the ground, painful, suffocating, carving techniques, and a technique for working with weapons. Wing Chun is a dynamic system. What is shown on the Internet, in general, is very sad. I mean sparring against other styles. Because the guys are not properly prepared and they almost always lose. From the very first day of training, you need to set the technique of movement! And so on, ending with a free fight. But many stand up against each other and begin to twist the Sticky Hands. Without strength training, movements, the technical aspect (full-fledged), hard Qigong, sparring and meditation practices, you should not try your hand at sparring against other styles! Everything that you are given must be tested in practice. Otherwise, why then do martial arts!)

Thank you guys! I have seen some videos and teaching on how to properly use wing Chun and it looks a lot like mma, TBH. But I see some clear advantages over mma, one being it's not for the ring but for real life. I can also see how easy it is to combine wing Chun with other arts. I have a full list of arts I see work well with wing Chun. Maybe this was the point of JKD and Bruce Lee's issues with forms. Well thank you guys, keep training!!!

Wing Chun (and Okinawan Karate) is not for sport open fights. It is an extremely eficient self defense method. It works very fast (1, 2, 3) in real situations of stress-self defense, but doesn't work in a sport combat... because it is not a sport.
@sergiobatista22722 жыл бұрын
Wing Chun, wing tsun, Ving tsun, and other variations of the style, it's overall the best combat system ever invented. The problem is that most teachers of wing Chun are bad teachers, and the students are bad learners (most of them)...and to make matters worse, both teachers and students are in general extremely bad fighters (wich is the most important aspect of the fight independently of the system the fighter practices). Most wing Chun loosers you see on KZbin fighting other systems, aren't even wing Chun practitioners at all, but bad imitations of the art. Others may be real practitioners, but they are only used to train and fight with other wing Chun practitioners, and they get surprised how things are different when fighting a different system...and they are also very bad fighters (actually all martial arts have bad fighters)...and one big mistake I allways see wing Chun practitioners making (both teachers and students) is that they play too much with theyr hands, and totally forget to use their legs...this is one of the biggest mistakes I see them doing (and most people of other systems also make this mistake). There are many other mistakes, but I don't want my comment to be too long. I am a wing Chun guy but I learned it in the 90s (things were better in those times) , I learned other stryking systems before learning wing Chun, and also japonese jiu-jitsu, hapkido, etc. Wing Chun works best for people who already have practiced other martial arts.
