Yes. I liked the convenience of the velcro strap on my old pair. But the laces make it a better fit imo! My old pair split as well but the pair in this video still looks and acts brand new!

Vibram 5 Fingers are the best! My teacher has learned from me that these shoes are very good for Qi Gong, Tai Chi and hiking. I wear the shoes already 3 years and they look like new.

The straps eventually rip straight off anyway, but the laces are really good. I find the big toe pocket always rips after about 9 months though. Maybe I have fat toes.

If I may make a suggestion for people who can't wear toe shoes. The new balance minimus line is also very good. But get the one with the vibram sole. You'll get the same barefoot feel as the five fingers.

The fei yue shoes are absolutely great, but have a bad durability. Without doubt, the li-ning leather wushu shoes are by far the best, because of the circular inserts allowing for easier hu shao tui, or other spinning moves. Well, that's true if you do contemporary wushu, it's less of an issue in other styles, I guess.
