I'd like to mention that you can output straight on the space pipe, so you don't need 2 platforms there. Just make sure you output on the different lanes. 26:02 I'd suggest to input items from the right side and place 2 arrays one after another parallel to the longer side at the top and two at the bottom (similar to what you already have there) of the platform. And output on the left side. This way you'll have a nice symmetrical design as long as you mirror top and bottom arrays. BTW, notice that pipes have much higher throughput than fluid launchers, so you can connect multiple of them to the same pipe and won't have to bring each pipe separately to each array. 27:08 That's because you can only use up to 4 buildings per fluid launcher (as tooltip told you before). You have to bring another one (chuck it on the same space "pipe" on the second layer) and connect all pipes. Or wait until you upgrade your buildings to the same level. 32:46 If you move left part one block down, you will be able to output right side around it on the top and won't need that bridge segment. Also, you can use launchers to stay on the same level, so that's another option to avoid the spaghetti. 39:20 To simplify this part, I'd suggest experimenting with splitters and swappers to produce diagonal blocks immediately instead of throwing 3/4 away and re-combining the quarters. This way you can output 8 belts of those from both sides and recombine these diagonals into 8 "full" (limited by painters right now) belts of squares.

The fact I'm at episode 3 and you haven't scrolled back up to the top of the upgrades list to see the first upgrade for cutter which would make your life so much easier has me shouting at the screen. Loving watching you and hope you upgrade this soon in the episodes I haven't got to yet! 😅

That green and grey one, you can get the exact shape of each colour, re-colour one, then stack them. There was the correct shape south west of your vortex. Then you wouldn't have needed to do any cutting or rotating - just turn one and stack. 🙂 Love this game! There are just so many ways to do it!
@DataEngineerPlays5 ай бұрын
Haha that happens a lot even when I'm editing my own videos I see ways to do it better. There's always a more efficient design! That's what makes this game so fun!

@@DataEngineerPlays Exactly!! Me too!! I do something, then realise I could have done it MUCH better, lol!! Good to see an Aussie gaming channel!! This is an awesome game! I'm been playing it since the first day! Wait until you get to trains! Then you can get shapes waaay out. The only problem is finding them - there's a feature request for a shape finding feature on their website. It's pretty high in the requests, so I'm hoping we get that soon. I'm spending more time looking for useful shapes than I am building now. 🙂

@@fransmith3255 I unlock trains in the next episode, go check it out! Glad your enjoying the vids, thanks for watching. A shape finding feature would be awesome. They had that in shapez 1 I recall...

I built an 8 in, 8 out painting platform yesterday. it took 1 hour. 1x2 platform, 4 painting stations each line. The painting stations can fill each other with paint and do not require a direct connection. It is also sufficient to lead all the color inputs into one pipe.
@DataEngineerPlays5 ай бұрын
but doesn't each pipe have a limit? so you would still need 8 pipes in and 8 pipes out at some point right? It's amazing you managed to fit all that into 1 platform! Well done!
@WeissForlorn5 ай бұрын
@@DataEngineerPlays 1 pipe supports the throughput of 4 inputs. The pipes have a throughput 4x that of the fluid launcher.

I did a painting platform of 12 inputs and 12 outputs on a 1x2 platform. It probably took longer than an hour

I haven't watched the new video but for the future, the green checkered square can be made with the swappers without having to reduce output. Stackers always reduce output by 1/2. Since 2 belts go in and one comes out, but a swapper keeps output the same.
@DataEngineerPlays5 ай бұрын
I must be going insane, because everyone's telling me a swapper is easier to use to make the checkerboard and in episode 9 you'll see me break my brain trying to use the swapper and cutter. One day I'm going to watch someone's video on how they did the checkerboard with the swapper and just go... omg it was so easy all a long

I prefer when painters standing next to each other are mirrored (F key by default) and touch each other's paint side. If that's the case you need to connect a pipe to only one of them, the other one will get the paint directly from the neighbour. I also stack them on top of each other on two different floors.

You sure had fun with the painting - you should see my curret set up it`s a mess but works lol - took me ages to even work that lay out :) - in the end I like you lay out round 21.00 - i think i try something like it - not easy setting up painting Question if I may - do you remember what your SEED number was ? - - like to try it for my next save - No worries if you don`t :) Like how you share yourself working it out - some out there cut loads out / move too fast for me to keep up - you worry about what people may think - don`t it`s all good and enjoy your chilled way you play - So far you have helped me during each stage so far - why i love factory games i never know lol - good for the brain :) all the best

@@DataEngineerPlays I noticed that in this episode, you started doing "micro cuts" to your video. Small sections are deliberately cut. I just want to say you have been lied to. Some influencer out there convinced you that your video will be boring unless you "show us highlights" instead of the whole video. Let me tell you: it's a lie. We want to see the *whole thing* . By doing these micro cuts, you: 1) Degrade our viewing experience, 2) Make it harder on yourself because editing takes time and energy. It's a lose/lose proposition. Comments ?
@DataEngineerPlays4 ай бұрын
@@power2084 the microcuts are literally just me thinking for a couple seconds while scrolling my screen around or saying "ummmmm" and "ahhhhhh". Or when i take 20 seconds dragging belts around incorrectly. You don't wanna see that!
@power20844 ай бұрын
@@DataEngineerPlays I assure you, I am completely being honest, WE WANT to see that ! Seeing you thinking about it, or dragging the belts around is 100% part of the game. Or even making mistakes ! Don't shoot yourself in the foot by giving yourself extra work (the editing) and at the same time diminish our viewing experience. Also, many times in this video, the micro cuts were disorienting because at one point you are somewhere, and after the micro cut you are somewhere else in the factory or on a completely different platform. Leave everything in the video.
