My mother and I met Gary Owen in person a few years back. He is truly authentic and very sweet. And respectfully he is kind of built like a brotha no lie. My mother and I were shocked to see how tall and how big he really is in person. He came up to my mother and gave her a hug and kiss before he left the comedy club. Very cool guy

When many white people surround themselves with black people they try act black to fit in and they overcompensate to the point where they almost become a stereotype you see it with a lot of white girls who date black guys ... Gary Owens is a white dude who just happens to be surrounded by black people ... I come from a interracial family nobody in my family is pretending to be something their not there's no cartoonish stereotypes but you still pick up on things and it goes both ways

Shaq probably doesn't recall... but, I literally bumped into you, Shaq, about 20 yrs ago at the Cheescake Factory in Sherman Oaks, and literally just stared up in awe. I was just stuck, and didn't get a chance to shake your hand. I think that was 2002 or 2003, somewhere in that range. - I just said, "Oh Sh*t, it's Shaq!" Right then you were seated, so I missed that opportunity. I don't get star-struck, but for sports legends, I lose my mind. I respect the hustle from both of you, Gary Owen, and Shaq of course... Gary being a Navy MA3, and then driving back and forth from SD to perform, and his story of getting brought before an eval board with the CWO flipping out - that's a real hustler. Dedicated to his craft.
