So this method is braid at the beginning and then twist? So for a touch up you would just retie or retwist?

Yes. You can interlock on retwist. Interlocking will last longer

It can be a bit dry so its important to find the right products and regimen that works to keep the hair hydrated as much as possible 😊

@@growqueenit can get hard. But what I do is spritz it with water first then I also spray rose water on it. That seems to do a good job at keeping it soft. Plus I use a really good moisturizer on it like once or twice a week. That’s helping. In my water bottle I have jojoba oil, vitamin E, rosemary & peppermint essential oils in it. I’m going to get some aloe Vera juice & add that to my water as well

How do you feel about the pink and green crochet hook for reties? I have extensions and got my first retie and the roots seem so thin compared to the rest of the loc. Also when I got my install initially they did not loc the roots. So when I got my retie they were saying that creates an issue? Just curious!

I think the pink and green ones are too big to use for reties but it’s more about what you’re comfortable with using. What was the method of install? They could’ve used a little too much hair however your hair should thicken as time goes on. They didn’t interlock the roots for the install? That shouldn’t cause a problem. I would have to see to really assess what’s going on though ☺️

Congrats on your install! The best advice I can give you is relax and let your hair adjust. Slippage is normal. Dont freak out 😊

So normally, if the hair did well in between reties, no more than 3.5 - 4 hours. the further the client gets into their hair locing the quicker the reties are.
