Did you ever need to know who deleted or changed a file? You can't rely on shell history to tell you what happened to a file or directory. Would your shop ever consider running z/OS without SMF audit trails? Why would you run your Linux systems without them? Lets review some of the basic steps to start producing Linux audit data and reports.
