Things become more interesting as you re-use terms. For example, you could have a Term Set called "Base Colours" and then reuse your parent colours Red, Green and Blue within that "Base Colour" term set, and at the user level they'll be able to use R, G, B, but not the children that's assigned to them (Navy etc) under their original "Colours" term set. My understanding is that each Term has an indexed code that comes in handy when using Flow, and that re-using terms also re-uses the ID assigned to that term, so that Blue under Colours term set is the same as the re-used Blue in Base Colours term set. I'm on the fence as to whether a Site level term store is worth the effort - as opposed to just using a global term set. Complications start to arise when users send their data all over the place, and I'm not sure how isolated site based term stores handle that. Thanks for sharing lad, good show!

Love the format of your videos. Are there times in your career where there was a practical application where it became obvious to use a term set over a lookup? Any examples of grey areas with certain categories?

Thanks! it's all grey! And there is no right/wrong way. In my humble opinion If things are constantly changing at the Org level, it will be a nightmare to use managed metadata....dept changes, team changes, product changes...changes changes! If you can find things that have lasting power then I think managed metadata is a good fit. Lookup columns are cool...yet there can be gotchas along the way. Just gotta play around and fine what works best for the given application.
