As I said previously, the Quranic verse nothing to do with not insulting Christians and Jews )i.e. mocking them). It is a statement of the condition of disbelievers in the hereafter. Secondly, all creatures of God, are not good or bad, except humans (and Jinn), their worth is measured in their obedience to God. So being disobedient makes you a 'worser' creature than someone who is not. Now of I used that Quranic verse to make this point, no law court would prosecute that under hate speech.

Mainstream or not, not all christians believe that (or know that they should believe that as part of their sect). Secondly, the hereafter destination of Christians, has nothing to do with not insulting them in THIS life, as was the premise of your original argument.

i heard a couple of minutes not every thing is said right you have to describe the whole vision not just a law and which is better or not , or easier or not and you can't compare Religion to laws , laws are something made so diff. people can live together and every body have his freedom which not bypass others freedom and rights ( and the proof that we can use laws of earth among laws of sharia is that Sydna Omar as he said stopped working with some sharia laws in a certain time as he said...

The problem that you dont see is that everyone in debt is a slave to the banking system, yet I havent seen ``Europeans`` argu against that, whole states become slaves. Greece is the best example.

No Dogma, I think you fail to see that such verses are only making metaphysical comments on the spiritual state of people in the hereafter. Only God knows who all of the disbelievers are. This is clearly not insult. But if it said "black people today are criminals", this would be (racial) insult, but if I said "among black people, are criminals" this would not be a racial insult (as criminals are among everyone). Find a better argument to justify your use of insult in lieu of reasoned argument.

The first problem with Shariah law is that it assumes there is a deity. Since not everybody accepts it, we can't use any law system that assumes it. It would be the same to force muslims to a law system that assumes a polytheist pantheon, no matter how just it is, would not be right to them. That's why a secular state is the best alternative we have. And unlike what a lot of people think (due to disingenuous propaganda) a secular state is one that warrants equal rights to everybody independent of religion (or lack of), sex, gender, sex orientation, race, and so on. All citizens should be the same under the law. Of course that's an ideal situation but we should work towards that. A secular state has nothing to do with atheism, and many uninformed people wants to believe. It just states that the state should not interfere with private matter and believes. In a secular state, muslims, chrsitians, atheists, polytheists, etc. have the right to their religion. So basic Shariah law will always have the built in property of being unjust to those that do not believe in a particular god.

>"The first problem with Shariah law is that it assumes there is a deity" This problem started from a very first man called Prophet Adam and GOD is a fact as only possible absolute power before this system of universe. >"Since not everybody accepts it" Everyone other ideology has no authentic reference, unless you want to prove it. >"secular state is the best alternative" secularism is an forced ideology of atheism, which itself proven to be religion of many people. its one of the most violent ideology ever existed in the world... >"All citizens should be the same under the law" Justice, peace and welfare are the utmost priority of GOD for the mankind. Yes, it can be achieved through the right course of justice and ABSOLUTE MORALITY. >"Shariah law will always have the built in property of being unjust to those that do not believe in a particular god" Its only sharia law which always given rights and protection to other "religious" communities thats why jewish's golden period was during muslim dominance.

Difficult Adam is a mythological figure, and god is far from a fact; and if you make the assertion that god exists, you need to provide evidence, which nobody was capable so far. Secularism is not an atheist ideology at all; it is compatible with religion, and it gives freedom of religion (and from religion), as far as someone doesn't want to impose their religions on others, which is quite self evident: would you like to be forced to convert to christianity or any other religion? If you think secularism is one of the most violent ideologies that exist in the world, you are either misinformed or trying willingly to spread misinformation, the last one should be a sin in your religion btw. Secularism has nothing to do with violence, it's just a system where no religion (or lack of) has privileges over others, and where all citizens are considered equals under the law. This talk on absolute morality and god is quite void too; it's impossible to have absolute morality if there is a god: it would always be subjective to him; the only difference is that it will be oppressive since we would not have a say on it. I am not sure if there is an absolute morality or not, but if god (the abrahamic one) existed, definetely there would not be possible. that people think this way is just intellectual laziness and taking the easy path: instead of doing the hard work thinking about morality and having to admit that sometimes we don't have the best answers, one just blindly accept that another being said it's so and follows it. And a question to you sir: how do you know that god is the good one and not satan?
@sehwyndoron3973

Difficult btw, learn about what is secularism. The fact that people against secularism needs to make a straw man every single time they try to attack it proves that they don't really have an argument against.

Sehwyn Doron >”Adam is a mythological figure” ADAM (pbuh) is a long established fact verified from almost all divined books from all religious books in the world. Since evolution has fallen badly and it’s has been proven by facts that the whole universal system is a product of creation. One has to be absolutely stubborn in his head to deny such establish facts from the history of mankind. >”god is far from a fact” That’s only fact exist in this real world. Rest of all ideologies has fallen eg, shiva god, evolution god, multi-universe god, alien-life god, spontaneous life god. There has to be an absolute power (GOD) outside the relevant world which has created this universe and fine-tuned it for life. >”you need to provide evidence, which nobody was capable so far” It has been proven by FACTS that system of universe is a product of creation and it is fine-tuned for this life to exist. Is it not enough for you? >”Secularism is not an atheist ideology at all” Here we got a new philosophy here… Secularism define its own subjective moral values and deny all objective divine moral codes and laws. All secular states enforce all its inhabitants to submit the subjective (manmade) moral codes and it has been proven by facts that current system of government (subjective moral codes) has created far more problems to the mankind than solving it. Of course, it has served to a limited numbers of people though… >” I am not sure if there is an absolute morality or not” Stop being a kid here. If objective evil exist, objective morality has to exist and both are inherently divinely natured, as we are powerless against the laws of nature.

ALL the people of the book are horrible human beings according to the Quran? No, what is actually clear, is that your statement is blatantly false. Those who believe, and those who are JEWS, AND THE SABAEANS, AND THE CHRISTIANS, ALL WHO BELIEVE IN GOD AND THE LAST DAY AND ACT RIGHTLY will feel no fear and will know no sorrow [on the day of judgement]. (Surat al-Ma’ida, 69) Now big the big man (or woman) and admit you were wrong. I will respect you more for it.

The biggest shortcoming of Sharia law is that it has not been changed according to changing times. Mr Abdullah is trying to justify the old laws where Slavery was allowed to exist. Doesn't matter how well the slaves were treated, just its existence should be an abominable sin. Not happy with this presentation. Don't justify the wrongs, but please instead work to correct them. Even in this day and age, there are millions of slaves in Africa. See Lisa Kristine TED video...

+Kostas Spiliotopoulos but reason is something alien to secular liberal people because . For example the Muslism believe teh world is created in TRUTH . BUt in your worldview you are not certain . That is why in quran it is written were you created out of nothing? Of did they create themselves or did they create the heavens and earth,? nay they have no firm belief (not certain) .

as I said earlier to another atheist . Scientific consoderations in his worldview is just a tool to survive . Just like the birds 'make use'' of gravity without scientific considerations and birds who master the winds without studying it . So the best position for an atheist is to say that the world is just there . There is also no conclusion . In Islam regarding knowledge well Allah says He has given mankind except a verry little bit and Allah created the world in truth so human beings who end up concluding that the world is not just out there are like mirrors reflecting Allah His light . So truth is real , however in an atheistic worldview knowledge is between your ears and everything can change . Even notions such as logic, space and1+1 can change . You can not be certain of anything . Peace be with you and I assume you are Greek? beautifull country hopefully one day I will visit Koufounisia and other islands. Peace be with you

+azadam1000 Its really important to understand that truth is independent of fair or moral. It might as well be reality is immoral ....what you like is irrelevant to truth. .....There are no Absolutes. Truth is what works in (A GIVEN ENVIRONMENT) ....Ultimate realities are irrelevant. But in our environment there are fixed stuff in relation to our environment. The word always existed in some kind of fundamental environment in the quantum level that evolve to everything else ...Morality is irrelevant to how the world works.
