Just remembered that we used to cut out a cardboard girl and dress her with paper cut-out clothes which attached with little folded paper tabs!!!

I also played with matchbox cars, etch a sketch, stylophone, making pom poms, knitting using a cotton thread spool with nails on top, weaving wool on a piece of a cardboard. Brass rubbing, drawing over tracing paper. I had pac man and space invaders (battery) games as a teenager. I had piano lessons as a teenager. I did cross stitching and other basic stitching on samplers. The best school dinners were at the Hirst first school in Ashington and I remember one dinner where I had soup, rock cakes and pudding. I always wanted seconds.

I started playing board games with my sister and cousins in the late 60's when my family and I were living in Ashington Northumberland. My favourite board games were Ludo, Snakes and Ladders, Monopoly, Scrabble and Headache now called Frustration. I played with a clockwork dalek at the age 2. At school I played ball games and skipping games as well as the one potato, two potato hand game throughout my childhood in Ashington and in Plaistow in London.

Thank you for these fun reminiscences...I was born in late 1973, I particularly remember having a spinning top, a little doggie on a pusher, lots of homemaker and baby doll toys. A dolls house. A rocking horse and a hobby horse (which I'd gallop around the back yard on after watching FollyFoot). My dinky bike and scooter, later a "proper" bike. A bride doll. A pole with a ball on a string and a bat. Shuttlecock. Paint books that you'd paint with water and the colours would appear. Recorder, ukelele, kazoo. Yoyo, skipping rope. Swing set. My grandma gave me her very old typewriter which I loved. Paper Dolls. A bit older, I had a battery operated Simon puzzle toy and a Mario &Luigi Nintendo (?) Game and Watch. Knitting Nancy, strap on skates. I spent hours outside doing handstands. So fortunate. But overall I was much more about my books and losing myself in my imagination and just playing pretend - other times and places, especially after watching an old period movie. I was frequently "in" ancient Egypt or Mediaeval or Tudor England. Or playing nurse with my toy doctor kit. Remember the little records with storybooks and you'd turn the page at the chime?

When I was in catholic all girls school.. the que to get lunch food was in a L shape so I would eat the donut, fries 🍟 or whatever was tasty before the end of the line and pay for the sandwich or soup 🤣🤣favourite school memories, I was dared to wrap toilet paper around the hand railing starting from basement to the 4 th floor… the Principal, Sister Susan sort of caught me at the 2nd floor, I dropped the bog paper and ran to the 4th floor through the nun’s residence and hid in the old auditorium for an hour. When I graduated and received my diploma from Sister Susan, I let her know who she was chasing 🤣🤣🤣

I hated school, soo bored. Used to go home at lunch & watch the Australian show The Sullivan's and try every trick not to go back😀. Toys - a monkey toy, Sindy then rollerskates, bike, wooden dolls house (not a fancy one, so I got to paper & paint it). huggy bear & speak & spell were my all time favs. Got a storybook magazines that came with an audio cassette. Paddling pool till my mid teens, brilliant for pretend studying in the sun. Ice skates at 10, then it was books & music. Books went from chalet girls -Judy Blume-Agatha Christie. 🐒🐻

Born 1958, scooter, bike with stabilisers, teddy , roller skates, hop scotch. Snakes and ladders, monopoly. Played cricket with the lads at school as our teacher was mad on cricket. Got post office, and shop. My grandfather bought me my absolute treasure, a hockey stick, played for the school team, slept with it for weeks. Bill and Ben, woodentop children programs. Sunday school at ⛪ if I was home, chapel in Sunday if I was at nans. Garden swing, man made a tent out of a blanket, and a folding clothes airer. Walked everywhere, or ride my 🚲, or the bus occasionaly. Happy times, we were only aloud to ask x1 thing for Christmas, whatever else received was a surprise, did the same with my children, they loved it.

Loved this both, memories I loved school dinners too! We had an amazing chicken casserole with mash. Also remember the ice cream with chocolate custard with a wafer. Then you had to put your hand up if you wanted seconds, this was in the early 70s. I loved rollerskating and dressing up. Remember Peter and Jane ladybird books for reading in class. It was all so different then. Children had no worries , we just thought about playing outside and what sweets we could buy with our pocket money. Could you do a video on what things make us happy, would be interesting what things people like 👍

My middle school was haunted and encountered my first poltergeist experience at the age of 9. Myself and my best friend was in the clay room on our own and big pieces of clay were thrown at us. We ( legged it) as we used to say back in the day. It was not a nice experience for us both... From then on my spiritual life began until this day. X
