We we there a year ago, but only got as far as the gates. The King was in residence and it was not open. We did spend some time chatting the London police guarding the gates.

I wasn't disappointed with your film because this is as close as anyone outside the family can get -- other than the folks who work there. I must say the steadiness of the video cam was exceptional, Gary! The place is beyond awesome, I loved the gardens, the river dee, the pine trees everywhere and the castle itself. Wonder if your former queen would be turning in her grave knowing her former home is open to the public. And imagine this... her being on the other side looking back at all the castles she owned and lived and had access to. All that is gone now for her. All in All she carried her duty as Queen and Defender of your Faith with such dignity, pride with exceptional composure. I could not help but think of her throughout your video. Hi guy's, Disappointing we couldn't get to see inside and maybe it's the Scottish blood in me but £100 seems awfully steep . Still as you said Claire it's ticked another box . Thanks for taking us along with you . The grounds and gardens looked wonderful but not sure I could deal with the stags head's lol . If you are ever on this side of the pond, please visit the BILTMORE ESTATE in Ashville, NC. You will not be disappointed, guarantee it. The entrance fee will not cost much more than this castle although it does require a plane fare to the US.

Thank you both, so well filmed, I felt as if I was there. Glad you got it dry. It was really good to see the river, with all the boulders and pebbles. (I did imagine Charles and Di., and then later, the boys).Well done on taking your photos. The gardens and scenery are really beautiful. You can see the King's work. It really reminds me of what he has done at Dumfries House, Ayrshire, though Balmoral was grander. When you were chatting outside, you could really see the "old house" that they "added onto" with the fancy towers... Shame the inside wasn't quite worth the large fee. I wonder if you saw the room where the late Queen met with Liz Truss. I'm totally with you on the stags heads. It must be like a taxidermist's. I wonder what you got in the giftshop...
