Thanks Ted that was great. Mainly 1590s here and most used for wheat. Mostly Kinze planters for corn and beans, they seem to be king. I have GP 15 footer other that wear parts it's been good. 10000 acres on it. I moved half of the cart ahead and it goes through everything.

Thanks for the info. I want a 750 but they are still a little high for all the more I plant. 10' would be a good size for me.

I dont really care for great plains drills.... Seems like alot of them are minimum till drills that they bolted a Coulter cart on the front and call it no till.... Our neighbor purchased one because he didn't think a 20 footer was big enough and jd doesn't make a no till drill that is larger unless you go air seeder.... He had so many problems with the Coulter cart plugging it want funny... They disturb the ground alot more than a single disc drill..But its all what you want... what you can find, and the biggest deciding factor is what you can afford!!

Thanks for the info I seed most of my barley or oats with an old IH 150 and it only holds 30bu , but we don't seed very much a year so it's not a big deal I still want a drill like yours for planting alfalfa at $5/lb I would like to do a better job.

I try to plant 12lbs / acre but sometimes 11 sometimes 14 depends how well I calibrate My brother inlaw has 2 60' air drills and farms all Dry land ( no irrigation) and he doesn't have cows but will plant some poor land to hay and he seeds a grass mix and drills it in a criss cross pattern and he gets a great stand. and his poor land has made more per acre selling hay than poor wheat and after a couple years he sprays it out and it goes back into rotation. They have been zero till for 20years and they crop everything when they worked land they summer fallowed 50%. They keep very currant with equipment and raise very good crops.
