1. It won't go to negative. 2. SIP is always preferred for regular retail investors

First one : I guess your questions is what happens if the company goes bankrupt. Then all company's asset will be auctioned and sold off, to pay off the debt of the company. And if there is any money left after all debts are paid off( generally doesn't happen) then the remaining money is used to pay shareholders. At first shareholders of preferred shares are paid off. Still any money left then common shareholders( retail investors like you and me) are paid off .

Second one : SIP or Lumpsum, is actually more of a personal preference. But in a volatile market it is always better to invest in a staggered way ( SIP) . If you are to buy shares of any company in the present market better divide your capital into portions and buy shares using one portion and wait and see how market is moving then judiciously buy more shares using the other portions. In mutual funds too it's better to do SIP, since it also gives you habit of saving and investing regularly.

What about bonus shares? some companies reduce the price while issuing bonus shares. For instance, Anmol shares. In July 2023 the company declared bonus shares at 5:1. cut off date was 18 July 2023. on 17 July the market price of the share was Rs 228. Then on 18 July company reduced the market price of the shares to Rs 57. That means The price was reduced by Rs 171. This resulted huge loss for share holders. After 15 days the company allotted bonus shares at 5:1 ratio. However after that the shares are not sold in the stock exchanges as there are no buyers. day by day the stock market mechanism reduces the price around Re 1. Now the price of the share is Rs 48 on 11 Aug 2023. But still there are no buy orders. Isn't this a trap or cheating by the company?
