Why the Shark try to bite the cage? what did they team explained about this behavior? I didn't think they(Great White) want to eat diver in the cage, but why they even try swimming forward and bite the metal of the cage? I'm thinking about to book this expedition also but maybe only surface cage like what you did. This is really great video!!! Thanks a lot.
@seeker76796 жыл бұрын
When you put metal in water it creates an electric field. The sharks have gel filled sacks called ( I think) ampulae of lorenzini which are specifically for sensing the electric field which all live creatures emit( as well metals in water). Hope that helps. By the way ,if I were you, I would try the deep cages. Admittedly you'll see more action on the surface cages, but it's artificially induced using bait and chum to make the sharks aggressive. If you truly want to see their natural behavior use the deep cages. Cheers

first of all sorry for this so late replay. really sorry. The great white, was just curious to see what the cage was, it wasn't interested on us. consider i have done only once the surface cage, and i didn't like it. the deep cate (20mt down ) was much better, the behavior the sharks is more "realist". Probably i have done 8 deep cage during the liveaboard.

I don't get Australia's polkicy with sharks, that they will look for and at times kill a shark that they think killed or bit someone. How can they criminalise a shark for behaving as a shark does in its habitat? Shark nets are a disgrace too. These amazing creatures need full protection and respect.

hi!, i am totally agree with you, that's why i have done the surface cage only 1 time in my life; in the deep cage (we were at 25/30mt), you can see the shark in their "normal" behaviour
