As of May 2024 currently going for $250 from most retailers (refurbished or used units going for about $130 ±$20) and at the moment if you buy directly from Shark you'll also get 5 year warranty and they're also offering a steam mop as a gift.

I had seen this at Costco while looking for one to replace my Bissell that never did a very good job (first of the dual brush). It was a major pain to setup and impossible to clean. After seeing your review and knowing Costco’s generous return policy, I picked it up. All I can say is wow. They really did engineer this very well. The reservoirs are easy to use with the dirty being extremely easy to clean as you demoed. All the parts that get dirty come off for easy cleaning including the brush roll. Love that it comes with a drip tray. It’s not night and day better than my old at cleaning, but the incredible suction is sure better. My carpets were dry in 2 hours with a fan blowing over them. Thanks for the review!

Is a person able to run the carpet cleaner, without the Oxi booster? And did you do any tests where you didn't use it? To see how well just the machine and regular cleaning solution worked, since that's how all the others work? Since Oxi-clean doesn't really "clean" things, but bleaches them. So the stain could still be there, but it's not able to be seen. I'd be interested in how the results would be, if it wasn't using an oxi booster, and was compared to the other cleaners on a more even basis, since most of them don't have an oxi booster. Though, the suction at the floor head is very interesting to me. The more water it can suck out of the carpet, the faster the carpet will dry, and less dirt or stain gets left on the carpet vs sucked into the tank.

I completely agree with the original comment. As much as I love the Shark Apex vacuum I bought years ago just because I love "Vacuum Wars" reviews, I do hate that the order of parts is literally an epic failure. That's my only down side to wanting to buy anything Shark products moving forward because you can't really find anything if you needed it.

My experience has ben great with their customer service. This product comes with a 5 year VIP warranty which means free repair or new parts if something goes wrong. I have Shark Apex and for some reason the roller unit started having issues. I called the customer service and they sent me a new one free of charge. That one also has 5 year warranty. I just bought this as it is on sale and very impressed with just one use.

So here’s the deal. I’m a big fan of the channel. But this overlooks a few things. As others have said, this is not the first carpet cleaner to have an onboard hose. You have also previously noted that stain trapper type attachments weren’t all that useful because they’re bulky. I will give that the dirty tank is easier to clean, to me it very much resembles the crosswave. And while I have never had an issue with this, many people, included vacuum wars, have said that it’s messy and not worth using for big clean ups. I will argue that carpet cleaning isn’t as messy as picking up a spill of pasta on hard floors.. but I guess it could be? Regardless, the bissell 2X revolution does have a difficult tank to thoroughly clean and rinse the suds out of. My biggest problem with this is that this test DOES NOT test subjectively (at least not to my understanding). I do believe that the products are what makes this carpet cleaner perform so well. The suction is excellent, I can’t deny that. But I would love to see how this compares when using the same solution. I’d say you can use water but I don’t know if that gives realistic results other than results by comparison. Personally I’d use the mixture of the previous chemical winner (the bissell max solution) at the same exact concentration. And I would put the same solution in both tanks on the shark. It won’t matter how it mixes, because the concentration is the same. That way what you’re actually measuring is the cleaning power of the machine, not just how well it uses the chemicals that are proprietary and from my understanding, hard to find in stores. I do use the bissell solution for carpet cleaning, and I pre-treat depending on the stain. But I will mix the solution depending on the strength needed. If it’s just a quick maintenance clean it doesn’t need a powerful solution mix. As a matter of fact, sometimes I’ll spray the solution with a pump sprayer and let it sit before using my machine to rinse with just water, and no solution at all. In contrast to this, I never use bissell’s solution in the crosswave. I clean my hard floors with Lysol, as it still kills germs when diluted, and I feel it gives a better clean. All of this to say, while there is a lot of objectivity in these tests I can’t help but feel that this is somewhat misleading. For example, when talking about the attachments, it’s misleading to show one of the worst attachment systems that isn’t even on the winner of your favorite carpet cleaner list. It also doesn’t mention that other cleaners do have these attachments. Including a crevice tool, which bissell has as well, but I’ll give a pass as it’s a less common attachment. They also have a stair tool that is amazing if you have carpeted stairs by the way (it has 3 rotating sides, one for the crevice, one for the curved edge, and one for the flat parts of the stairs, 10/10 would recommend). You have also previously said you prefer to be able to control the water output, but I’ll give this a pass to because ease of use is worth rewarding. To be clear, I love my shark. But I really value the objectivity of your reviews, and while you have previously said you think your tests speak for themselves I don’t feel that applies here completely. Many people have complained about sharks customer service and part availability. I can’t speak on that personally. I do love my shark, but I loved having a trusted reviewer and I don’t want to see this channel lose that. I like this machine but the commitment to a chemical system specifically for this machine that they may stop making just doesn’t sit well with me. If the success of this machine hinges on those chemicals, then that says more about the chemicals than the machine itself.

Just purchased this and used for 1st time.... did about 10% of a room and then looked behind me to check results. The area I did was covered with intermittent teal coloured stain marks in the areas I had done. Like heel of the palm sized blotches. Checked over the machine and found no issues but the color looked like some kind of dye from the rotating bristles. Spent the next hour with a handheld bissell trying to remove but looks to me like a permanent dye stain.

Bissel is just a piece of crap. Don't waste your time. The reason I am wathing this video is becase I am about to throw out my bissel crap I bought 1.5 years ago from Wallmart. Cleaning it is just a nightmare. In fact, you spent more time cleaning it than vacuming. Sometimes you need to clean it during the process, meaning you need to take apart the entire thing. Anyway, trust me, steer clear of Bissell, it's my biggest dissapointment as far as latest purchases go. Bought it for $250 and now about to throw it in a garbage. Because I don't want to sell it and make others suffer. That is exactly how I feel every time i need to vacum my carpet with it.

I love your reviews and trust your results. However I’ve bought three different shark models, two were “top of the line”. All three held up horribly. I have a small home and vacuum once a day yet I’ve had to spend so much time on the phone with customer service insisting that they replace the parts that weren’t under warranty. Then those same replacement parts, when the actually send the correct one, would break in the identical way again in short order. They’re so disappointing. The Land Rover of vacuums.

Because Shark makes trash. They work good initially and then break down. I would never buy another Shark product, especially a carpet cleaner. The dude who makes these videos is obviously biased towards Shark, probably getting paid tbh.
