First it depends on your hair type. If your hair is really straight naturally it’s going to drop and it’s to be expected. Which is why you’re supposed to put some product of your choice so that they can hold up longer and also making sure you crank the heat on the dryer. I have the same hair type and it lasts me days beautifully

I have both Shark and Dyson. I bought the Shark because I didn't want to spend the ridiculous Dyson price. The barrels are the best thing about the Shark. Work super well and my volume lasts for 3 days. But the Shark brushes are brutal. They pulled out my hair and left me thin and frizzy. I ended up at the dermatologist office wondering if I had a hairloss problem. The Dyson brushes use the coanda effect so smooth the hair down while drying. The Dyson is much gentler on my hair and has saved me. Shark beats Dyson for the curling barrels but their nylon and boar bristle brushes are too harsh and cheaply made. And ruined my hair.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience Christy! I still haven’t used the brushes - and after hearing your comments I don’t intend to. I’m really struggling with the barrels too - whilst they create beautiful, bouncy curls - they drop within seconds and my hair is super flat. Surprisingly, I get a better and longer lasting effect with my Amazon curlers. Maybe it’s time to invest in the Dyson after all!

@@theolivelife If the Shark curling barrels aren't working for your hair, the Dyson ones will definitely not. My hair is a bit frizzy and has a bend. I think for people with naturally straight silky hair the curls do not hold. You may try adding stying mouse directly to a brush and then brushing it through the section before you go in with the curling barrels. Then allow them to cool and only finger comb them. They may eventually drop but if it gives you a nice loose style then it might be worth it. If not, I'm not sure you would like the Dyson either. For me, it was well worth it because it was the only thing that really smoothed my hair, made it shiny and didn't yank it out by the roots. If your hair is already silky and shiny, you don't need it.

Remember that is not a curly tool but just a hairdryer. My hair is fine and after using the "curly" hairdryer the curls fall. That's normal.

Thank you for your insight - I now have the Dyson and my hair doesn’t hold up either… no volume, no bouncy effect 😔

How long did the curls last?
@theolivelife2 жыл бұрын
Hi Emma! They didn’t last at all - while the tool creates big, voluminous curls at first - they drop almost instantly. I’ve had a play a number of times now and no matter that I do, how damp my hair is or what product I use, it doesn’t seem to hold. Mega disappointed, I wanted to love this!

@@theolivelife Oh no! That’s a shame, have you tried the dyson airwrap?
@theolivelife2 жыл бұрын
@@emmalouise8001 I haven’t! Have you? I was advised the Shark is much more powerful, but given my experience, I’m not too sure now… 😞

Have you been playing with the Shark more? Do you like it more now ?

It’s not a tool I enjoy using - my curls just do not hold, no matter what styling product I use (or don’t use)… really wanted to love this but I’m quite disappointed! 😒
