We've had the Shark hydrovac (corded) for about 1 month and so far LOVE IT. We have 2 VERY hairy dogs and I used to have to vacuum and then hit it up with a swiffer wet pad. I was going through 2-3 swiffer pads to clean our entire first floor and it still didn't 'feel' clean - it was ridiculous. The swiffer also left nasty streaks and made our laminate floors look like a mess. This Shark Hyrdovac machine makes vacuuming and mopping SUPER easy. My only complaint is our kitchen floor is tiled and it often misses spots, so it takes a little longer to go over the same spot 2-3 times before moving on. The self-cleaning feature is SUPER easy (just make sure you do NOT use too much cleaner or it will foam too much and say the dirty tank is full every 30 seconds) I usually have to take it apart after every use because of the excessive amount of dog hair it picked up. That also is SUPER easy and literally takes less than 5 minutes to rinse out the roller cover and dirty tank components - plastic retainer and filter. I sure hope this machine lasts because it definitely doesn't have an easy job in our house with animals!

I bought the Walmart Version of the shark. I felt it cleaned real well. it didn't come with the additional roller or filter but it was only $129.00 a Walmart. it did however come with the sample size cleaner. it got my hardware floor looking good

You CAN use other cleaning concentrate too, just be VERY VERY careful not to use too much or it the solution will excessively foam and constantly trigger the 'dirty tank full' light. So far, it works beautifully and with a 1 year old running around, we are confident the floors are clean. FYI, buying off the shelf concentrate (Lysol or Mr. Clean) is MUCH cheaper than repurchasing the solution they give you. Again, just be sure not to overdo how much you use in order to minimize foaming - it doesn't take much concentrate in a 16oz tank!

Does the shark have an option for only suction? I have a tineco and my only issue with it is that it's always releasing solution so I can't get everything as dry as with the Hoover.

I just got the Hoover because I wanted to have control over the water. How do you feel about the Hoover?

I would NEVER purchase any shark product, they are designed to break and be replaced.

I have never had any problems with Shark. I have a Shark lift away vacuum that is gosh probably 9 years old and it still works perfectly. I had one of their first ever robot vacuums it still works perfectly. Just need to keep them maintained. Clean filters and everything once a month or so just like you should any other vacuum.

I love all of my Shark products, I have the robovac, several steam mops and a regular vacuum. I also found their customer service to be very helpful. All the products I have I have had for over 4 years and they are still going strong.
