I have the latest model and will be trying to plug it in and get it up and running tomorrow as I am disabled and my caregiver seems to be missing in action! I thought it was going to take myself my caregiver and a third person to set this up but obviously it's pretty easy to set up and I can do it from my wheelchair.

Thank you for this video. I love my R101AE but it stopped working and I was so sad and planned to buy another one after payday. But luckily I saw your Video and realized it had just gotten the on/off switch turned off maybe when I moved it. Turned it on and now it is all fixed. Thank you very much!

I received an error 2. Nothing was stuck under or in the Shark robot IQ self emptying rv1101. The app error message said error with drive wheel call Shark customer service. It would shoot off of the docking station faster than it has ever run then turn to the left and stop. Clean light blue, dock light red flashing and ! light red and flashing. I looked it up and it is: wheel motor encoder failure. I called Shark, I bought the vac in April 2021 so it expired 3 months ago. I had purchased the VIP warranty. They said they would make an exception and said they are sending me the replacement part. I am paying the shipping of $27.00. I also own a shark cordless stick vac. I enjoyed your video. S9+ checking in. I'm rocking a Netgear Nighthawk dual band WiFi router and I've had zero issues with my S9+ on 5 GHZ. I did notice for a few weeks I wasn't receiving notifications at work that the robot had completed it's cleaning run. iRobot was notified and sent out an app update that fixed the issue. They are amazing support wise.

I’ve had mine for about 6 months and I love it. But i keep getting a dust bin error, and the dust bin doesn’t seem to stay seated properly. I had just finished replacing the filters, brushes and roller bar on this unit. Maybe I am missing something, that is causing the dust bin to slip out? Please advise. Thank you.

Figured it out, where you grab the dust bin to remove it and clean, there are two small buttons to depress. They are kind of hidden, when depressed or pushed in. The buttons were stuck in, so the dust bin just slid in in and out, with nothing hold it in. I used a thumbnail and popped them both out, so now when I slide the dust bin in the buttons functioned and caught. The dust bin is now seated properly and I’m not getting an error message. This type of problem falls into the “fiddle factor” category. Lol.

Nathan, have you tried that after it's mapped, and you have something on the ground, would it still continue to vacuum without issue? I have currently cleared the floor for the robot to map (*85 runs still no map T_T*) but I will eventually put those things back to the floor (such as heater and air purifiers) .

Once the map complete, you can put things back on the floor, it won’t mess the map up.

We've had one a little newer than the one you show, has worked great for over a year but now I have issues where the 'self cleaning' doesn't work and I get an 'error 26'. When it docks and the dirt is sucked into the base unit it makes a weird noise. When I check the robot it looks like the debris is kind of hanging out of it, any idea how to fix this? Thx

Hmmmm, check the filter in the self emptying station. I believe the filter needs cleaning out. Also check to see if there any blockage in the suction port to the canister.

I’ve been having major issues with mine. It would only run for minutes at times and then return to the dock. I got a replacement from shark which was brand new and this new one is doing the same exact thing. I’ve tried changing locations and factory resetting it but I’m having the same issues… have you seen this before?

Hmmm, never seen this before, does the robot indicate low battery? Try unplugging the docking station and see if the robot runs longer. It could be something telling the robot to dock.

I am currently troubleshooting the WiFi issue. I have also had difficulty connecting it to my Google Home Assistant, although that is probably a problem with setting up my Google Home (beginning stages of setting up a smart home). The mapping has been poor, but I am hoping that it gets better with some updates. I have not given up just yet. I have had the Shark IQ for less than a week. Paid about $320 for it. Couldn't pass up that deal for experimenting.

Yes I can relate, had a very rocky start getting the mapping done at 41 cleaning runs with a reset at 30 cleaning runs. But once the robot is mapped and setup, I find that it worth the price 😃

The Roomba i7+ because the value, features and functionality is right on the nail. While I like the Roomba s9+ I think it still too pricey for the minor upgrade you get over the i7.

I purchased two of these beasts because I have a split level house. They are fantastic. Jeeves is responsible for the dinning room and Rosie takes care of the rest of the house. We have two dogs and three cats, our floors have never been cleaner. For obvious reasons we have mostly hardwood floors which is one of the reasons i purchased these vacs. They do a great job. Some reviewers have made an issue that the robot doesn't have a sensor in the dust bin to tell it to go back to the base to empty. This is not an issue as you can use the app to set it to empty more often during a cleaning cycle. The navigation is outstanding. Jeeves mapped the dinning room in exactly 11 runs. Rosie is on her 8th run, so still mapping but I have a high degree of confidence that 11 runs will be all she needs. The ability to integrate with my Alexa connected home is brilliant. Yesterday while driving home, I told alexa to "tell shark to start cleaning". Alexa asked me which robot, so I said, Jeeves. When I got home Jeeves was working away. These are super great vacuums, I highly recommend them.

Mapping is highly dependent upon room shapes. Peninsulas and irregular trapezoids causes it to take longer

bleufee I would try to reset the robot, delete the Map, delete the App and reinstall. The Map has a bug which will never complete the map if you are at 20 cleaning runs or more. Should complete the map after 11 cleaning runs after the reset.

What's weird with mine is that it can find its base just fine when it does empty and resume, but then it never returns at the end of cleaning and just dies somewhere random every day. In 36 runs it's not once completed an entire run without dying somewhere or, even more weird, just cleaning the area around its base then calling it quits.

I would try to delete the map, turn to robot off for a minute. Uninstall the app and reinstall the app, turn the robot back on and try the mapping process all over. Sounds like the internal map on the robot somehow got messed up. The robot should complete it map in 10 cleaning runs

For the record I romba patented the dirt detection scanner so sadly I don't think any company can make that so instead they officiate the cleaning process by having a more powerful suction then the romba series

Also the manual says if ur house is a bit odd it'll take a dozen times or so to get the job done ....if u have the product and somethings off then ur not tech enough to have it ...stick with the simple rombas

Aws Khanfar Take a look at the Roborock S4 it’s a few hundred dollars cheaper than the S6. Now if you must have the mopping features than the Roborock S5. The Shark IQ would be a excellent choice too. The Ozmo 950 good robot but, it designed for larger areas.

Mine has error 7 (cliff bs) I did maintenance and all, is there a way to factory reset the shark IQ robot? I do not have the self cleaning dock station.

The only thing I can think of is there some dirt in the sensors, there not an official hard reset, other than removing the battery completely from the robot for a few minutes.

It's like buying a Toyota/Honda and knowing the product is built to last. You can always find affordable OEM parts for their vehicles just like you can for a Roomba. Shark doesn't have the same quality as Roomba. Just look at buyer reviews on Best Buy.com for the S9+, Shark IQ, and i7+. I own an S9+ and just purchased an i7+ for my parents. I'm confident both robots will outlast your Shark IQ.

Robot is giving a 01 error message. I removed the brush to clear it but the error message means a wheel stuck, and I don’t see the wheels stuck. Any suggestions for how to fix the 01 error message?

Try rotating both wheels to see if they turn clearly and if the error goes away. You can remove the wheels and check fir any dirt that can cause a wheel sensor error.

Could be, sometimes iRobot Roomba don’t connect, and that because they are doing a server update.

It has to do with the antenna position in the robot. It is sub-optimal and does not roam.

Hi, my Shark IQ randomly decided to give me an "ERROR 2" message. i've tried taking apart. cleaning it. everything. It seems to be the left side brush I think. If you have a fix for this I would appreciate it! its driving me nuts that I cant get to the bottom of the problem. Your videos are great btw!

Hmm does the side brush spin at all? Try removing the side brush and see if the error still occurs. Also check to make sure the motor spins freely. Since you taken it apart, check the connection to the motor. It could be a broken connection or the motor went out.

LOL The video ended at 3:37pm That's what I paid for the Shark. I wish Shark bot could find its way back to the base faster. So far so good though. I have not had any network problems. The only time I had a problem is when he got stuck on something we left out. I am going on nearly a week with no toys on the floor. Win win for me. My 6 year old still loves Shark bot.

Nice I totally planed the video to end at 3:37 😮😃. Anyways I have a 4 year old daughter and somethings I let her ride the Shark IQ aka sit on it and have the robot take her on a spin. Most these robots can handle up to 40 lbs of additional weight.

Mine ran great for the first two days, then all hell broke loose on the third day. In cleaning mode Darwin would leave the dock and start cleaning, then just stop five to eight feet from the dock. The brushes are still spinning, but the wheels are not moving. I’ve checked for blockage in all areas. There are no obstructions, nor do I receive any error codes. Also, Mr. Charles Freaking Darwin outright refuses to go back to the dock when told. He just sits there like a child holding his breath. When he does decide to return to the dock, he does so drunkenly. I’ve clocked him at five minutes just spinning, going forward, turning this way and that, bumping into the baseboards all along the kitchen island bar before going the eight foot, straight shot, to the dock in the first place. I won’t start in on the connectivity issues, but like I said, Darwin was great for the first two days. No issues at all and my map was nearly complete.

I really thought that all those people complaining and telling not to buy shark iQ were wrong. But after buying one I have understood them. I have reset the map through the app at least 6 times in 2 months, still didn't get my apartment mapped, if it gets stuck on a rail it keeps running and damages all the map, forcing me to reset, anything that happens wrong to it it will mess with the map. At least they should program it to UNDERSTAND when I get it from the floor and put it back to the base, but instead, they mess the house map if I do it. So imagine if it gets a sensor warning telling to clean the dust from sensors, or any other warning that stops shark to work will mess up the location and therefore the map, forcing you to restart the mapping. In my opinion, its a poorly tested product with incompetent engineers that don't know what they are doing. Also I had seen no relevant improvements over these two months since I have bought my shark.

Just got one brand new direct from shark today and have ripped my phone security settings, vpn, my routers settings etc completely apart trying to connect this junk food the first time. Ended up running out of time having to leave for work so it's sitting there charging waiting to be returned tomorrow. Add I'm no IT idiot either and know what I'm doing. It simply refuses to communicate. And no it doesn't support 5g.

Some things I noticed with my shark Iq and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Thank you for your channel and your awesome videos. I had to leave lights on throughout my apartment to help it notice rooms it would otherwise just put as walls on my map. note: this is 2 hours before sunset and the room it was to go into was dark. But the main room had a decent amount of light. It took me 39 cleanings for my map to finally finish. So the mapping definitely needs an update. I also had connectivity issues on the app when using cellular. The moment I returned to WiFi it worked flawlessly. Only having to turn off the app 1 or 2 times when it was buggy. My shark also says it randomly cleans at night in the history for 10 or 20 minutes. I never have seen real heard it run at 1 or 2 in the morning but these are just a few issues I’ve had. I’m very satisfied with it so far and am happy to finally have a map.

Hi and thank you for sharing your in-depth feedback on the Shark IQ, really helps other people decide on if the IQ is right for them. I can relate to the long mapping times, I was at 30 or so cleaning runs had to reset the robot and delete the partial map. After the refresh the robot mapped in 11 cleaning runs. I have not tried personally with the low light navigation or no light conditions, but it sounds like the Shark can clean in the dark to some extent. The main reason I choose to keep the Shark IQ and the truth I use this robot more than any of my other robots is the ease of use via Alexa. The Shark IQ is one of the few robots where I can tell the robot to clean a certain room via voice, for me is the best feature. Thanks Again and take care 👍🏻

Hmmm it could be something with the dock. Are you able to start the robot when it not on it docking station. Does the robot operate normally?

@@Gardo09PR Ok sounds like there an issue with the dock. Does it flash when the robot not on the dock? Make sure the canister fully seated, check to make sure the air filters are properly installed too.

WoW never heard of that problem, but I strongly agree these robots have a personality. For example I have the Roomba s9 and Roomba i7 and one day had both robots clean my house at the same time. Terrible mistake because when the robots were done the Roomba I7 finished first and managed to turn the Roomba s9 charging base 45 degrees. This prevented the s9 from docking and it died in the middle of the room 🤔😞. The i7 was happily charging on its docking station.

I have an exclamation mark that lights up on my Shark IQ. I called Shark customer Service and was told that it had a defective brain that couldn’t be fixed! After only using this for a year, I was a little upset as this was $400. Have you ever hear of this? I’ve Googled many times and can’t find any issues that’s specific to this error message.

I had the same problem but was told that my shark was in a reboot loop. Not fixable...😢 Fortunately, my shark was within its warranty and they would send a new pod to me (different model 🤨), for the low low price of $25.00 shipping and handling..... I've tried everything I can research to fix this but to no avail.

It's 2 4ghz only and it hates linksys routers. But honestly most devices hate linksys routers i have a linksys wrt32x, 3200acm, a TP-link AX6000, and a unifi ap ac edu ceiling mounted in every room hard wired back to unifi poe switch with dual 10gb back end to my 10gb switch running 2 dell 740 2u servers with pfsense and all the good stuff in vm's i have 2gbps up and down fiber but bursts to 5gbps as needed

Thank you for your honest reviews of the Shark IQ. I have watched all of them and made the decision not to buy the Shark IQ as a gift at this time. I do hope they work out the software issues. It should never have been released for sale since the company had to have known about the mapping/software defects.

I got this shark as an early Christmas present and after watching on KZbin I was really worried thinking I got a bad vacuum. But I’m happy to say I’m have none of these issues. I did the first run on December 19th. It started showing me progress house maps after the 3rd run. It is now December 23rd and I got the notification after today’s run that my map is complete! Looks exactly as my floor plan does. I think they have brought out the new software update cause mine works flawlessly

Going to have to delete the map and start over, will never map. Once you start fresh you should be able to map around 10 cleaning runs.

Another great video. I learned that shark has 4 filters, 1 on the robot and 3 on the dock. Compared to roomba cleaning base, in shark the cost and maintenance of filters turns out to be higher than roomba bags. All told by the autonomy of human intervention, roomba are undoubtedly the best option.

Can you tell me your floor plan setup, how big is the level, do you have multi levels carpets etc. Will help me determine if the Shark IQ would work.

@@RobotMasters two levels all hard wood total about 3000 sq feet . The bottom floor is pretty open the top has multiple rooms

Jobin Joseph The Shark IQ currently only support one floor plan, so some people buy two to compensate for this issue. In your situation I would recommend the i7+ because it has the multi floor mapping and does well in hardwood floors.
