Update: After like 15 sessions, the suit is failing apart, pretty much every connection (stitching) is teared/ripped. Sent mine 3.5 months ago for "repairs" (not sure what can be done, the whole suit would need to be re-done), still waiting, support says probably another 2 months wait time until they start addressing the repairs. Unless something has changed with manufacturing (the way they do the fabrics connections/stitching) I wouldn't be getting one. Too bad, the idea is great, the execution needs a lot of improvements. For the current price listed on their website, one could get 2 premium wetsuits that would last ~4 years, + a few sharkbandz magnets.

That screw driver test was very impressive probably similar shape to a shark tooth but the steel screw drive would be even stronger that tooth I imagine. Very cool

@@haydonburford338 Hi Haydon, quick question about the suit. Ive seen footage of it stopping a knife penetrating even with a forceful stabbing motion, were you surprised that the knife penetrated so easily in this review?
@haydonburford338 Жыл бұрын
@@liamrmorgans921 Hello Liam, not surprised as stainless knives will cut through much easier than real teeth. Remembering the pressure of a bite is dispersed over an area by many teeth. The armour is designed to greatly reduce damage compared to normal neoprene. It will stop the horrific tearing muscles and arteries from the bone.

Yes, I agree about the neck & chest zip, definitely too small & narrow. I'm a surfer & found it flexible enough to undertake manoeuvres. After two hours surfing I did find my arms were a bit sorer due to heaviness of the suit. However, overall I found it suited my needs.

One suit has shown up and I’m waiting on the other! But had a white shark encounter in November 2022 at Abrolhos Islands and didn’t have the suits! So I’m waiting for other for the 2023 season! Thanks for sharing your thoughts 💯👍🏼🙏🏼

From what ive been told shark stop was using an Australian wetsuit manufacturer that is renowned for poor quality wetsuit builds (shark stop may have not been aware) They have since moved manufacturing overseas outside of Australia. So hoping this company can make a comeback with high quality suits. Its really a shame they had the experience with the Australian wetsuit manufacturer as it would have severely damaged their brand.

Yeah, would be nice to see their tech/material in a proper suit.

In the past 3+ years in this area I *think* I've seen only once, way smaller specimen, something like bronzie.

What happened to the suit? No responses from them and they have discontinued the spearfishing diving model. Very disappointed.

The suit is gone, like I mentioned in my earlier comment every fabric connection (stitching) is teared/ripped.

Is the whole thing made out of the shark stop material? it looks like neoprene in a lot of places or is that just stuck on top of the material?
@SilverFoilSurfer Жыл бұрын
No, only the silver-ish part is made out of the shark stop material.
@paulgreenhall3588 Жыл бұрын
@@SilverFoilSurfer According to the company ( I just messaged them) they aim to protect the main attack areas. I guess the neoprene areas are not as vital or as often bit. Pity there is not more protective material but they say it would be too stiff if it used more. I am sure it will still save lives all the same. A great invention.

What about the material on the joints region? Is it strong too?
@SilverFoilSurfer3 ай бұрын
No, it's just normal neoprene from what I remember.

It's not harder than the Seal skin is it? White shark chow through the whale and seal skin like is nothing I don't think this is strong enough to stop a shark from doing fatal damage
@SilverFoilSurferАй бұрын
I think it won't be too hard to poke through the Seal skins with a screwdriver, so yes, the material is definitely harder. Also, when shark (or any other species, including us) realises that after initial biting it's not "chewable" - it stops. It's all in theory though...
