Hi there! Thanks for the vid. Is there enough room for a 6foot-ish person to do pullups on this? Worried I'll hit that support triangle, but I suppose that wouldn't necessarily be an issue.

Is the sound loud when the mechanism goes up and down? I heard a loud noise whenever you closed the door but unsure if that is the door clicking or the raven RP60 automatic door sweep.

The column doesn't have the standing legs, its spring-loaded compression design.

Great overview, thanks for comparing to the Lip Typhoons. How have the 2.0's been holding up since you got them compared to the 1.0s which seems to have fallen apart?
@SilverFoilSurfer2 ай бұрын
2.0 is still struggling to keep the lens on in a shore break/crashes. I wouldn't buy it for any actions sports, boating is great, but that's pretty much it. I'm riding now JetPilot goggles, cheaper, polarised, the lens is "not removable" (at least I can't figure out how to do so, didn't come out in any crashes), much bigger ventilation holes so it doesn't fog up much in overcast weather. I might make a review about it.
@Freshtodeath20002 ай бұрын
@@SilverFoilSurfer Thank you, just saved me 100 Euros. They should have a better lens fixation system especially given the 2.0 iteration. I see forward also has a Jetmask now, but I would be hesitant to try them after your experiences.

@SilverFoilSurfer2 ай бұрын
Thanks, and indeed, the majority of "reivews" are a total BS out there, everything is "game changing", "next level", "revolutionary" BS. Winging is overblown industry and we (consumers) better resist buying the "latest" and "greatest", constantly chasing 2-5% overall improvement year over year... Use it until it cannot be repaired anymore ;), kind of my new modo.

Looks so smooth, great riding 👍 got me interested in trying these footswaps and strapless jumps. When jumping, it looks like you keep more weight on the back leg and dont pull too much on the wing to avoid a too high jump, right?
@SilverFoilSurfer2 ай бұрын
Yeah, when doing strapless foil jump, you need to land with 90% of weight on the back leg and keep the pressure there for a few seconds until you feel the lift. When jumping into the wind, you can go higher as the wind helps to keep the board "stick" to your feet, when going downwind - can't jump as high.
@TheGuyThatWondersWhy3 ай бұрын
Bro you’re a genius. I was just thinking that all you really need is “the strip”, matador, kids pull-up, and some rings and you’re golden. If they made a longer one, say 90” like the regular posts, you could mount the pull-up higher, anttach the pritchett pad, and add a landmine for squats, rows, overhead presses etc.

@SilverFoilSurfer4 ай бұрын
Thanks! All it takes is repetition. Foil size is really weight and skill dependant, In this video it's f-one eagle 990 with xxxs fuse and 210DW tail, but after covid I've lost like 4kg, now it feels way too big even in marginal winds.
@Gilloup4 ай бұрын
Hi Silver ! Thanks so much for helping the beginners ! It seems (to me, but I can be wrong of course) that you start with one technique and end with another one. The first lightens the body with the wing set like a parachute whereas the second keeps the pull of the wind into the wing. The first witnesses a slight up-momentum of the body whereas the second tells to keep exactly the same sheeting and arm positions and only rotate the hips (and the feet follow up). I have already seen elsewhere those two different techniques, that's why I ask about. May you confirm my understanding ? Advise one technique or the other ?
@SilverFoilSurfer4 ай бұрын
Thanks, you’re overthinking it, it’s one of those things that is easier done than said. Yes, there is initial ~45 degrees momentum up, foot swap when hitting the peak (kind of weightless), speed gain and a gentle board pump. Focus on your legs/feet and don’t think about the sail, your body will put it where it needs to be. Look where you want to go, don’t look at the board during the swap. Honestly I don’t even know how I do it at this point, will post another video soon about feet swapping while holding the wing on the depower handle, next level of control, tricky at first
@Gilloup4 ай бұрын
I don't think I am overthinking 🤣 I just try to understand. Once a gesture acquired, it becomes simple. Eg, it took me many trials with bad tutos to learn jibing, today I do it with less and less mental preparing, thanks to one tuto (and only one ... 1000 thanks to the lad who posted it) . Now I am on learning foot swap. Yesterday I tried on a suburban lake to swap using your tuto second method but it does not give me enough time to correct my stance, so I dive or rear. I had already tested your tuto first method on choppy sea but was losing too much speed so that the foil was oversensitive to any move. Next I will try a mix of the two methods, ie delphining a little the board then rushing the back foot and the body forward. The difficulty is that popping up the board is easier with the wing flat over the head but this sets the body and the wing in a posture very different from the one looked after by the second method. In a word, the two methods are hardly compatible. But I'll try next all the more as that's what advises the only tuto that made me jibe. A totally new gesture for me !

I've been thinking about this alot lately. I have a few clear long term goals, but my current situations are always lacking having a laser focus on short term goals. By setting a few short term goals to get done within a few month or so, I feel very ambitious to get it done and it's very doable in this timeframe. Way to organize my timeline myself. 🤙🏼

When the pen is hot, drop a bit of oil and wipe it around with a paper towel, give it a few seconds to smoke - ready to cook. You still need to add oil as needed after this "on the fly" quick seasoning.

The new googles in the overcast/rainy conditions fog up more than the old one (due to tighter seal, less ventilation) but at least the lens stays put after big crashes. If you're constantly in a cold area, overcast/rain - probably get some anti-fog spray, spitting in it is not enough. In a normal conditions the goggles are pretty awesome.
