4 amazing sharks is true. But the question is, do you need 4 sharks? I've heard the sharks talk on countless occasions about the fact that having more than one shark on a deal means that every time an entrepreneur has a question, you need to run it through each shark's teams because everyone needs to be on the same page. Realistically, with Mark's connection to sports and the affiliation of song and sport, Mark's tech background to help with the software side plus Kevin's affiliation with the wedding industry, they could have easily countered with "We're not looking to give away that much equity. Mark and Kevin, would you consider coming back down to your original offer of 400K for 25% for the both of you?" or "40% is too much equity for us. We would be open to working with fewer sharks for a lower equity amount." and seeing what the sharks come down to. That would've been the better play but it is much easier to say things as an armchair critic than being on the spot.

@@khawajth well said my brother. They really do lack in business perspective hence he can't think of it on the spot and why they need a partner in the 1st place. Bring in daymond is really not necessary but he little bit afraid to said that and the idea of getting 4 sharks really get into him. He really felt the guilt when the shark said he became greedy with his counter offer and afraid he could burn the offer.

exactly, they are artists, no way they want to be crunching numbers, running board of directors meetings, execuvtive board members, charity/donations plays, any royalties, big deals with music labels...on and on. Trying to run all of that will crush their creative juices....getting the sharks to each put their crack team on each task....is the way to go.

Oh my God the sharks destroyed the valuation. They were at 4 mil when they first came in, and walked away with a 1.25 mil evaluation. Definitely should've stuck to the 800k for 40%

Dudr they got the wedding decor covered, the social/diversity covered, the international covered. They rather own 60% of millions rather than 100% of a few hundred thousands. Plus they can focus on the creative work while the sharks handle the business aspect with way more success than they would.. and no competition..

Considering they only had 1.8M total sales with a 9% profit margin before paying themselves, a 4M evaluation is a bit high. I agree that he should've stuck to his original 700k offer and then maybe negotiated for 600k in the middle. Sharks were definitely sharky this time.
