So earlier today, we called the HVAC guy who gave us some really useful advice over the phone and what to check. I'll show what I see so far, but wondering if he should still be called later.
Sorry for the dark thermostat display. In case you couldn't see, ambient temperature was 73 F.

Many people have leaky systems and leave them, and call the guy when they notice it's not working well. If the leak was always there, and it took 7 years for it to get to this point, as long as the leak doesn't get worse, I don't think having a recharge only that often is much of a burden.

Yeah you could be right. It's still running perfectly normal right now and sounds great. I tried the detector again without touching the pipe, and it actually seemed to stay normal. I guess we shall see how it goes for the season.

By the way, in November of 2022, Tom Drexler crew came and inspect the AC/Furnace Unit, and saying it's time to replace with the new AC/Furnace Unit because, the under-pan is gone since it was been used since 17 years, and I can't complain about that component. The old one is Goodman, and the new one is Amana, especially for the HVAC, I wasn't expecting that it runs quiet. Afterwards, in April of 2023, same company gave my family a free plumbing inspection, and later on they say, water valves, water hoses, and gas water heater need to be replaced, especially for gas water heater, it's about ready to give out, it was used since 20 years, and I can't complain about that. Fast forward about couple days later, they did replace with the new water valves (but they got the color code backwards), water hoses, and the new gas water heater. Speaking of the gas water heater: Tom Drexler person is trying to install the new 40 gallon gas water heater and they said they couldn't get it in and install it because they never seen the most narrow breeze way ever since they are so used to deal with various houses that has plenty of room, we explained what was built back in 1954 - 1956 by Ft Knox as a temporary housing and they didn't know that. Suddenly, they're going to install the 30 gallon gas water heater and all behold, it fits in nicely and got it installed real nicely and runs really great. According to Tom Drexler person, it should last 10 years until it needs to be replaced with the new one including gas water heater, and AC/Furnace and HVAC. I can deal with that as long as it will last long after 10 years or more.

I guess that is a good amount of time, but be absolutely sure it is no good now.

Did you check the filters and change them. Did the guy check for leaks? If the coil is icing up the leak can get worse once the weather heats up you’ll have no ac when you need it. If you need a charge once in awhile that’s easy enough. The carrier unit at the branch circa 1987 needs an annual boost and top off the oil lol keeps running like a 57 Chevy, good luck!

Nice to hear from ya Ed! He did not. The entire coil didn't ice up, I just had noticed some icing up at the piping by the air conditioner itself and figured that in itself was a problem. It is actually running right now and still seems to be running normal. I guess I will keep watch on it throughout the season, and see how it continues to go.

Sorry you had to go through all this hassle on your A/C. It sounds to me that it is working fine as of this video. I would say, give it a full week or longer of running as it is, then call your HVAC pro if anything acts up. Wishing you the best.

I would call the guy. The leak may freeze up your evaporator coil or your A coil.

I would say let it be for now but keep an eye on it at least it’s 410A and not 22 so you won’t get totally robbed if it needs a recharge Just my opinion

That might be the best idea. It's running right now and still seems to be operating perfectly normal.
