Another night of fishing at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and another night of SHARKS. This time we finally catch a larger shark and it amazes me that these predator's patrol the waters just off the Grand Strand beach front.

OMG..... this was such a great video.. the excitement in your voice.. and that smile when that big shark came in.. OMG the energy was so contagious... great video my friend.. I really enjoyed watching you fish... surf fishing at night is a rare treat... When I was a kid my dad used to take me surf fishing on Long Island Sound... Ill always remember it.. there is something special about being on the beach.. casting your line into the dark water..... so magical

I will admit I was pretty excited...It is definitely one of my favorite things to do when we go to the beach. I have been wanting to catch a nice shark from the surf for a long time now.

Awesome catch. Thanks for sharing that! I love surf fishing at night. Many years ago We would wade to the 3rd sandbar to cast out. Then a friend caught a 7’ Bull shark in the 2nd cut..never went past my knees at night after that!😅 Have a great weekend! Best wishes! 👍🎣

Thank you....definitely about knee to waist high will do it for me at night...I am always freaked out wading out there....especially just after something hits a rod and just rips drag

I am looking to do this summer at the same place and have been researching it. I have a 15 foot rod and 10,000 series real. But then I found online that it is illegal to fish within a mile of the beach. Do they not patrol at night or is it not to be worried about?
@1Cast1Fish3 жыл бұрын
It is illegal to fish for sharks there....I would not show up and try to put a big thing together kayaking baits out...but who can control what you catch when casting bait chunks out there. We caught Rays, Whiting, and all kinds of other stuff while there. I never did see a "patrol" other than a few but I think they are more concerned with fires and fireworks it seemed. a 15' and 10K reel will get you way out there on casts...I used 6 and 8oz lead. Again just to point out Shark fishing specifically is not allowed there :)

Looking to go down and shark fish in Myrtle beach at night just like this in a few weeks. Saw it’s not aloud in the county but was wondering if it really would an issue at night. Also can always say you are targeting big redfish. Any thoughts?

Even without any drag being stripped? I have 65lb braid and 65lb mono leader...plus like 2ft of 105lb single strand wire.
@brandonroberts48694 жыл бұрын
@@1Cast1Fish i always used braid to fill the reel with more line for a shark that ran(that way you can use less drag) and tied into 100yds of mono with a 3-4 foot metal leader. The video looks like abrasions were cutting your line. Think about how long the sharks you catch are and imagine their tail swiping back and forth. Next time you catch one rub your arm quickly over one's skin. It feels like concrete. Mono is not great for abrasions but it's better than braid. I never tried flouro but i bet it would hold up a lot better than the mono. I would buy the leader that comes in a bundle so you can cut it to size and use the sleeves along with a crimper.
@1Cast1Fish4 жыл бұрын
I did increase my wire length to about 3ft...but it makes casting very difficult and distance suffered a lot.
