I dont mean to sound like the "I know everything" guy, but I thought sending him down was kinda the obvious choice. He came in, got some solid games under his belt and got some good experience while Walman was out, and when Wallman came back he was sent back down. It's very common for young players to get like 4-6 games to test them out and see how they do. They did it with Eklund twice. Also the Sharks already have 4 other rookies in the lineup and you cant just have a team of children. I think this stint will show him what he needs to do and come next year he should have a full time roster spot.

As a sharks fans, I am asking what team is possibly willing give up any assets for Mario Ferraro? He has not upped his value this season at all

He’ll be back before season ends after they trade Ceci and/or Rutta at the trade deadline.

I think they’ll likely keep Ceci and resign him in the offseason since their RD depth is rather thin and he helps slot the younger RD into their right slots. Ferraro could go since Walkman is on the top pair

Wil Smith needs to be sent down too. Hes been, besides a few - very few at that, moments this whole season, hes been garbage.

Not to give too much shit to Warso, but you bring Smith in and pretty much instantly make him a third liner, give him random “conditioning days” which is a nice way to say healthy scratch and staple him to guys like Goodrow, and Kunin for the majority of the season and then you’re surprised when he doesn’t produce? He was clearly struggling out of the gate and should have been sent down to the AHL. There he could be playing top line minutes in his natural center role and get some points and some confidence. Bring him up for a few games if you have injuries but just let him cook for a season. We’re not trying to make the playoffs this year so why rush him? Obviously he’s 19 and this is his rookie year so it’s not like it’s the end of the world. He’s going to figure it out and he’s going to get better but I think his development so far has not been handled very well.
